3M Soft Edge Foam Masking Tape, 06297, 13 mm x 50 m , White

I don’t know what others are trying to sell you saying this stuff doesnt stick in the reviews… but I just finished spraying my car and it’s actually too tacky. I had to use degreaser to clean it up in spots. I would buy it again… if the roll wasnt enough for 10 friggin cars that is… I only own 3 and don’t plan to paint the other 2

You can't go wrong with foam masking system. It leaves the most perfect soft Edge ever. Blends beautifully.

Great product for sealing edges of panels for painting. Sticky enough to stay in place but not too sticky. It compresses to fill gaps.

Great stuff for quickly masking jams. There are many other back-masking uses for this stuff as well. It may seem pricy to some, but the time and work it saves you is well worth the added cost.

This tapes intended function is not quite up to standard. The foam is in contact with the piece being painted, that being said you MUST be cognizant of the amount of paint being sprayed near the edge of the foam as it will build up and create a ‘hard’ edge, not as hard as a fully taped edge, but still not as soft as one would like. Depending on what type of edge you’re going for. There are much better designed tapes out there for the purpose of blending new/existing paint surfaces.
