Out of date
Published in 2013. Mostly geared toward rehab, however as an MDS Coordinator, info may be useful from a rehab standpoint. Just wish info was more current.

Need version 3
I wish this author will write version 3. This book has conversions ICD-9 to ICD-10. As a clinician who has practice for many years, I found this to be useful. However, now that it's 2019, I think ICD-9 is now long forgotten. Other than that, it has everything you need on a subacute/short term/long term care facility. It has your RUGs, Coding, CPT codes, Goal writing, Effective documentation and Legal Issues. One of the best books out there.

Big book
Book has a compilation of different diagnoses codes. If you work for the short term and long term care facility, the book explores most the scenarios that you can find.

Nicely written!
Book is great and nicely written. Great for therapists who work in nursing homes where knowledge of MDS 3.0 is a necessity.

Stahp with the pictures
I used this book as a new grad occupational therapist. It has great information on differences between settings, different RUG levels, different practitioners, and ICD codes, but the pictures are totally distracting and have nothing to do with the text of the book. It looks like they just googled "medical pictures" found the ones that were royalty free and then scattered them throughout the pages. I really wish it was just text--I'm guessing the price would go down.

Very beneficial!!!
All I can say is wow. I have read the first edition of this book. But this second edition is well worth itร's cause. The information is very easy to follow, it is also updated to reflect the newest rules and regulations. I thought that they will get rid of ICD-9 on this text, but instead they have the ICD-9 side by side with its ICD 10 equivalent (they call this general equivalency). The goals are also updated and it details examples on how to create them. I urge anyone working on a subcute nursing facility to buy this book. It is a must read!!!

Great second edition!
Make sure you get this book. It helped us a lot during state inspections. This book has everything from maintenance programs, fall prevention, writing goals and proper coding. It even guides you to choose which patients are great for Part B. It also details which G-codes to choose and the corresponding to code/level. At this time and age of constant Medicare rules/regulations changes, this book makes it simple to understand and follow all the rules. Highly recommend.

Great coding book!
LEARNING THE WAY CODING IS DONE FOR MEDICARE RESIDENTS RECEIVING MULTIPLE THERAPIES. ALL WAS BENEFICIAL, I HAVE WORKED WITH REHAB PATIENTS MY WHOLE NURSING CAREER. This new book is by far the best Iโve read. I have suggested this as must read for all supervisors in my company.
