Yes! Definitely! I'm Dominican and our Puerto Rican bothers and us share our cuisine, and this is the "caldero de arroz" that we use for all our rices (white, arroz con Guandules, arroz con pollo, etc)..he will be satisfied and happy when you show him this!

well, you could google it, but here ya go: a cup of dry uncooked rice weighs approximately 180 grams or .3968 pounds. there are four cups to a quart, so, 19.2 cups in 4.8 qts. so now you multiply 19.2 cups (volume) by 180 grams (weight) and you get 34,560 grams or 3.456 kg....convert kg to pounds multiply 3.456Kg by 2.2 lbs/kg....6.89 pounds of rice....more than you can eat in one sitting. The size is way smaller in person as introduced online, I am highly disappointed and dissatisfied. Its not worth the money I spent.
