DON'T PASS THIS UP!!!! Easy DELICIOUS, quick recipes
OK. I am significantly overweight. I read this book and it makes so much sense! For years our society has been telling us LOW or NO Fat is the key!! HIgh carbs, get rid of the fats. Over the years I would yo-yo, losing weight and gaining weight again. When foods take out the fat then they take out the flavors! To account for this lack of taste then the manufacturers add back in loads of sugar. This book teaches you how to change your body from a sugar-burner to a fat burner, which is what you are when you are in ketosis. Ketosis is when your body no longer is using carbs as its fuel source but fat. Years ago I tried the Atkin's diet. It did work but I was focusing more on protein and less carbs but I did not get the importance of fat. This book showed me that fat is integral for your success of achieving ketosis and proper fat-burning. The diet wants you to implement 60-80% FAT!! 20-35% Protein and 0-5% Carbs. I learned from this book that if you have more protein than fat then your body will then begin turning the excess protein into glucose will be similar to sugar-burning. So fat is key!Guess what? I have been doing this plan and I am actually eating less!! Fat has more flavor and more calories. I no longer have jitters from high-carb intake that was resulting in crashes. My energy is up and I am excited because I don't feel like I am deprived! Once in a while I will get hungry and want to turn to a quick carb anything but have learned to have nuts, cheese, etc. ready at hand. I eat plenty of vegetables because there are plenty that have a low-glycemic index.I have lost weight easily and without any hunger. I do not crave sugar that much anymore and if I do I have learned incredible replacement recipes that take care of it. My sister has diabetes and high blood pressure. She has been doing this similar plan and has improved all of her blood levels. She was so excited! The foods are amazingly yummy. They have breakfast, lunch, desserts, smoothies, and sauces. I can go out to a restaurant and actually eat!!! I can order chicken or steak with cream sauces and butter. Most of the recipes are quick and easy and because they have FAT they are delicious! There are so many recipes where you use Almond Flour and Coconut flour that you can eat things like sausage gravy and biscuits, pancakes, muffins, etc. I don't feel like I am missing anything with these options! Here are some interesting things I have eaten and even adapted "my own" versions from:Buttered Coffee!! I will put coconut oil, almond milk or coconut milk, and some xylitol or Swerve sweetener---When I have this I feel such a burst of energy!!Peanut butter shake, chocolate covered nuts,my adaptation of one recipe is lemon coconut chocolate cheesecake....this is so good and it does not taste "diet" at all!!cinnamon muffins with cream cheese frostingEggs, cheese, bacon.....recipes with chicken, beef, fish, shrimp........it has it all! This book's information has been a blessing to me. Its easy recipes have allowed me to immediately start this way of eating unlike some other books where you have to build up a huge food list before you can really begin.I bought some ketosis testing strips here on Amazon which helps me track my ketosis. They show you when you are in ketosis and not and also show if you are in light ketosis or high ketosis because they have color variations. This helps me keep track.

good Keto book
I have looked at at least a dozen and this is one of the best. Most the ingredients are found in a normal kitchen pantry and frig.

Simple but yummy recipes and great info on the ketogenic diet
I was pleasantly surprised. I will preface this review by saying I have been a low carber for a number of years so am familiar with this way of eating in general and some the science behind it . When you search low carb diet keto does come up but not nearly as much. Also searching for keto recipes returns a lot of low carb recipes. For me I have found eating low carb high fat and moderate protein is the way to losing and staying at a healthy weight. When I deviate the weight comes back very quickly. I gradually increased my fat consumption because I felt better and was satisfied. This book is well organized and provides plenty of delicious simple recipes that will keep you on track. The author does explain the reasons for eating this way and the science behind it. I thought she explained things in layman's terms and made things simple to understand. And last but not least she gives many recipes from breakfast, snacks lunch, dinners, dessert, appetizers and some smoothies. I am a fruit lover and that is the thing I miss most on this way of eating. She provides ideas on how to handle social situations while eating this way.She gives nutritional information at the end of each recipe which is always helpful when you count certain things. She provides lots of resources , from websites to apps ,at the end of the book. There's also measurement conversion charts for those not used to US measurements. The pantry staples are great and am planning on making the ones I would use, such as sugar free ketchup and tomato sauce. I found the recipes to be mouth watering. I can't wait to try many of them. I do miss cinnamon rolls and can't wait to try the cinnamon muffin recipe. The recipes are some of the best I've seen around. I always try to modify what I eat so it fits my LC lifestyle which is close to keto. My family does think I am crazy when I eat plain organic butter, coconut oil, EVOO, or organic ghee. Oh so delicious and satisfying! She has a recipe for butter coffee but I will try this with tea and see how it tastes. I usually have mine with heavy cream to get the fat but cream also has carbs. It's a great intro to this way of eating. It's definitely not for everyone but I would highly recommend reading it, you will learn a lot.

Lots of yummy food in here!
Lots of fabulous recipes here for your keto journey! First thing people say is "how boring / restricting" when you describe to them what the diet is. I've never been one to eat mountains of pasta but I do love potatoes, all ways! This book is chock-full of tasty recipes from the simple to the more adventurous. The book is American so all weights and measures are given in US (eg. 1 cup and ozs.) but there is a conversion chart at the back for metric equivalents. Also some foods are stated in US nomenclature eg. zucchini = courgettes. Don't be put off by the title it's a little keto joke because bacon and butter have been perceived as Enemy no.1 for so long!

Great recipes for LCHF/Ketogenic meal planning
I've been collecting some recipes for LCHF (Low Carb High Fat) meal planning and the Bacon and Butter title caught my interest. I'm glad I made the 99p purchase (for Kindle) because there are enough options for everyone to find meals that suit them. I'm quite happy with bacon and eggs for breakfast, and can also eat a scotch egg any time of the day. There are smoothies, sweets, and main meals aplenty. I have other books but this one will be well used. I'll be bookmarking the recipes and adding my own notes. Check out the Look Inside option to see the list of Breakfast recipes for an idea of what to expect.

I like to see what I'm cooking
Sorry.... I'm a visuals kinda girl! Book is hugely let down by lack of images! I like to see what I'm cooking :( on this alone I haven't really touched it much. If your not bothered about that then I'm sure it's great!

Book has formatting problems when viewed on my tablet.
The book is quite good but the layout on my tablet is terrible. All the ingredients are in a single vertical row that goes on, in some cases, for pages. This makeshould it unreadable. I should have bought the book!

Great book of tasty receipts
One of the few keto recipe books I've read where some of the recipes are tempting enough for me to want to eat them and for them also to be things that I would happily eat if I was not on the diet.
