Love KRS One, love hearing him talk and lecture, this to me was just waaaaay religious for my liking. Lots of repeating himself, lots of reiterating and dramatic phrasings. I got about 100 pages into it before putting I couldn't pick it up again. Another reviewer mentioned, "There is no doubt that a lot of hip hop fans won't know what to make of this book at first. It is not a music book. It is a spiritual book". That's a good way to put it. I didn't expect it to be a music book, but I didn't expect it to mention god so many times per page. Another mentions "much more than just music. In fact the music isn't really even mentioned much" which isn't what I was expecting walking into "The Gospel of Hip Hop". I'd buy another album, but not another book.

Great read really open my mind to some thing I didn't even know was happening. To me its a must read for all my brothers in the hip hop industry.

Like tha Bible of Hip hop...seriously, in every way shape and form, this is like tha bible but written from a hiphop perspective, I haven't finished reading it yet but i absolutely luv it, Anyone serious about Hip-hop should have a copy of this awesome book written by tha one an only KRS-ONE. Everything about this book is special, from tha moment i received it, it feels like tha holy book of hiphop. Tha reason i luv this book so much is it teaches real hiphop" In the end the last days of others became the first day for us all! All praise, glory and worship be to god- the love that rescued us from oppression and ignorance.and to all future generations of Hip Hop, know this; it is this love that has delivered this gospel to our people for our correction and survival. Its so easy to lose our way, its so easy for new generations to take Hip Hop down tha wrong path. For someone like myself that passionately loves rap and Hip Hop and also has luv for tha mainman , this book excited me, it really is like tha holy bible of hip Hop, if you're serious about tha genre then you should read this for sure. :) XXX

Could be one of the best books I've read.Has so much various content on different topics and ideas that you will be entertained andeducated in equal amounts.There is a lot to read-Small text on MANY pages. But lots of wisdom and knowledge shared through it all.Took me a while to get the momentum going to finally read the whole book, but glad I did.

If you concider self a true hip hop head and not one of them fancy new 'rap about b**ches, champage, money' materialistic donkey brainwashed a**holes than this is the book for you! Knowledge reigns supreme over nearly everyone is explaining the connection between hip hop culture and spitiruality. It is a positive book that will make you love the culture more than you already have. This is THE BOOK!
