Setting Up Classroom Spaces That Support Students With Autism

I really like this book.
The book arrived quickly! The book answers basic questions on how to set up a special needs classroom with great examples. I wish the authors would have expressed even more of their expertise in the book (made the book larger). I will be buying more of the authors' books. Additional photos of positive classroom set-ups would have also been nice to help me come up with more good ideas for my classroom.

Wonderful resource!
I'm an autism consultant in the schools - and a visual learner myself. I have used this book with many teachers to show them pictures of structured teaching examples. It's helpful for them to see what I am talking about through pictures. Love the MANY examples as well as two checklists that are included in the book for considerations. These visual and organizational strategies can help teachers with MANY, MANY diverse learners - not just those on the autism spectrum. Terrific resource!!!

This is a must have book, especially if you are new to Special Education. It is useful getting teachers started when trying to create functional learning spaces. It is an excellent companion book by Susan Kabot, Building Independence. I recommend purchasing both books.

Great resource for a special education classroom
Been waiting to order the book for a year, since listening to one of the authors at an autism conference.

A great resource for special educators
This is a very good and very practical resource for Special Educators everywhere. There is an old saying that goes, "Well begun is half done". It means that the way that we set-up and structure a situation can make all the difference between its success and failure. This can be especially true when it comes to structuring a classroom for student's with special needs. This book shows you how to "set the student up for success".

Wonderful Resource
This book was wonderful. I am in my 6th year of teaching self-contained sp. ed. and I still learned so much. I wish I would have come across this book sooner!
