Missing pages….
This book is missing pages 175-190 in chapter 6. I am not sure if this is just my book but since my class just started I wasn’t able to return it or replace it because it was after my return window. Never had pages missing in a new book.

Unauthorized sale in US and very disappointed customer
Selling a product that should not be sold in United States - There is a note on the book front page stating - "Circulation of this edition outside the Indian subcontinent is unauthorized". I am three weeks into my graduation course and found that the book is not exactly the same as the book followed by my college. I remember searching the book with the proper ISBN number and this was on the top of the list on this site. I searched again and I found the same results. Even though I am a recent fan of Amazon, I was really impressed by the investment that Amazon puts into its technology. I thought that Amazon search engine would catch these kind of un-regulated sales on the site. But , to my surprise, I found this on the list and ended up buying the book only to find that it is not some thing that should be sold in US and more over does not comply with the chapters line up with the original book. I wonder the amount of dollars spent by this giant to capture online market, but allowing these kind of sellers who are not compatible with the mission statement of Amazon would impact the brand image? I strongly suggest that there should be improvement to the search engine that spits the results but eliminate the suppliers that sell incorrect products or violates the regulation. This purchase almost costed me a failure in my course. I had to purchase an online version with another site by paying a premium price as the correct book is not available to ship in time even with a prime membership. I am really disappointed by this purchase.I recommend that they look at the ISBN details very closely and verify the sellers before making their purchase. Which in general should be a convenience provided by the seller, but better be safe than sorry!!!!

Outdated Theoretical Marketing Written by Academics for Academics
This was easily one of the worst marketing books I have ever read.Imagine taking every marketing concept and throwing it all into a book with no central theme or clear direction or point of view. That is this book. It is poorly designed, overly worded and sorely needs editing for clarity.This is not a book for a modern marketer to learn from or follow. Its concepts are dated (there is even a detailed mention of Yellow Pages ads, which haven't been relevant for 20 years). It is very obviously written by academics and not those who have actually worked in marketing for their careers. As academics do, it's as if they need to force definition of concepts and ideas that marketers don't actually define in those terms in the workplace. There is very little in this book that has real-world application. It is almost all theory and a resounding disappointment.MBA programs: It is a complete disservice to students to use this book as a textbook for an MBA class. It will not help them in their professional career. Please find something better, current and more focused on real-world application!

Professors please stop using this - Extremely dated information
The information, case studies, photos, examples….everything is outdated. The first chapter proposes questions about Google’s marketing strategy with the most recent info being from 2014. A lot has changed in big tech since 2014. It’s hard to read with dates information knowing that students are just getting duped into buying a new edition with the same archaic information.

Decent marketing text with thoughtful examples, but use limitations may hinder most students
While marketing is not my strong suit, I enjoyed reading this textbook for one of my graduate courses. It offers a reasonable explanation of concepts for non-marketing types. However, be warned: the Kindle eBook version only allows use on 2 simultaneous devices. Apparently, this is set by the publisher (Prentice Hall). If you are like most modern students with a laptop, tablet, phone, etc., it may be difficult to get the content where you need it when you need it.

I rented this book for an MBA class I took ...
I rented this book for an MBA class I took in this Spring. I have to say that this book is really well-written and engaging (something that can be difficult to find in a textbook). The chapters in the book tended to be very long, but since the content and voice was interesting, I did not mind. What was also helpful were the real-life company examples spread throughout the entire book.

Required reading for anyone in business.
Since the Third Edition this has been my 'bible' through 50 years of line management and consultancy. I've never come across any marketing text as clear, as logical and as so easily accessible. For business interns/college under-grads/lecturers/consultants and line managers (IN ANY BUSINESS!) Kotler's works are a 'must-have'.

Superior Page quality
Got second hand for Rs. 388. Received in a really good condition. Didn't find many markings, as good as new. Superior page quality . A must buy for the managers. If you want a good book at lower price look no further.

I have been a steadfast disciple of celebrated author venerate Prof Philip Kotler for the past two decades.I believe this book is not limited to marketing discipline alone rather enlightener of impeccable practices to be pursued by the management and marketing professionals.I look at it as a structured approach covering almost all best in class methodologies towards efficiently conducting any businessIt's a compendium suited for customer centric firms looking for sustainable ways to grow their businesses

A good intro to Marketing!
Though I knew some of what was discussed here for I belong to the field, for someone new it's a book to read. It's insightful and discusses a lot of concepts that can be useful. I skipped what was not relevant to me as I was looking for something particular.
