Very helpful book for new thought philosophy.

My first thought when reading this book was, "my mind is blown!" but then I realized that wasn't true - indeed, my mind had been awakened. A student of metaphysics, the concepts in this book were neither foreign nor confusing to me. This book took my knowledge of metaphysics to an even deeper understanding. It opened my eyes to what my mind knew all along intuitively - that there was so much more to the Bible than traditional, fundamentalist thinking led to believe. It was as though with this book my search came to treasure. This book is certainly a treasure and I can see why it is referred to as Filmore's crowning achievement. I will read this book until the pages fall out and then buy another. I'm buying my husband his own copy. This book has also taken my thesis research to an entirely different level of depth.I've read reviews about the binding of the book. It is basically a print on demand style book but I would encourage the proverbial "don't judge a book by its cover" on this one. The proof of it's worth is achieved through its contents.

Invaluable resource for understanding the true meaning of the bible.

Back in the early 1990s, I was studying Edgar Cayce's in-depth psychic readings on the Book of Revelation. I was particularly interested in his interpretation of the mystic symbols contained in the book--especially the angels spoken of in the Book. A friend gave me a copy of the "Metaphysical Bible Dictionary" and it was an invaluable spiritual resource in my personal life, and my professional life as a writer. I'm convinced that Dr. Fillmore (the founder of Unity Church) tapped into the Universal Consciousness when he wrote this amazing dictionary. To my amazement, his metaphysical definitions matched Edgar Cayce's exactly in many cases. In 1994, I published a book, "Edgar Cayce on Angels, Archangels, and the Unseen Forces," and the Metaphysical Dictionary was a primary resource in the chapter "Angels in the Book of Revelation." I found Fillmore's book was extremely helpful in all facets of my spiritual writings. Another great resource (written with a great sense of humor as well) is Gustav Davidson's "Dictionary of Angels." It seems that not much research went into this so call Metaphysical Bible Dictionary. (NOT!) This is completely false on my part! I was hasty in my assessment. I'm reading the entire dictionary and I have found it to be the most comprehensive and and informative resource for reading the Bible I have ever encountered. The search aspect, however, leaves a great deal to be desired. Each word should have at least been bold. In light of this I am using Kindle highlighting to make each word "yellow" and each "Metaphysical" explanation red, so that when I return to find something I will be able to get to it through the kindle search; in other words I'm creating my own alphabetic table of contents. Most words are in (Hebrew) some are Greek and this tells one what all the names of both persons and locations mean. Without this knowledge one can not understand the full meaning of the Bible's story. I realize most people would not take the time to read a dictionary but in this case I would highly recommend it, or at least looking up your biblical words as you read! I have enjoyed this Bible Dictionary.

This is an incredible piece of work. It gives simple, but in-depth metaphysical definitions of most of the Bible. Just reading through this dictionary will give you an education with great insight into the metaphysical aspects of our life that are laid out in the Word. I have never read anything that gave as much enlightenment regarding the metaphysical as simply being the word made flesh in each of our lives.
