Came in handy
It's a nice little item to help catch crabs and bait fish. When I pulled it up, the crabs had ripped open the bait bag inside, so I don't plan on it lasting too much longer. Plus it's very light and the current kept carrying it away, so I had to put a big rock inside to sink it. Otherwise, it's pretty handy , jus not sturdy for long use.

perfect for crawfish
these traps are perfect for catching small fish crawfish or any other small aquatic animals, we used them to catch crawfish in our pond. the zipper top made it easy to empty the traps and the food bag held our bait perfectly. 10/10 would definitely recommend. Great buy for the price we used our catch to make a delicious etouffee 😬

Needs improvement
Not a bad design for what your paying for. 2 for the price of one basically is a awesome deal, considering these are made about the same as the others you see on the market. Even has an extra layer of nylon woven in to help from tearing or fishing slipping through. Two design flaws I noticed though are.... 1.) The hooks holding it together when collapsing keep popping off, allowing the unit to unfold. Needs to be larger, curved more, or a tighter fit around the bars.... 2.) There needs to be 2 more strings added between the openings, to make 4 total, so that when the unit is unfolded, the openings that the fish can swim through are more open. The holes the fish, crayfish, or shad swim into can collapse/ fold with only having 2 strings to stretch the mouth holes at the end of each funnel. If your bait runs into a collapsed opening/ dead end, it will just go the other direction. Defeats the purpose. Otherwise the design and unit is decently made for what your paying for. 3 stars for how it was made, minus 2 for design flaws, and for using thin support rope that can snap easily if used around rocks. Recommend replacing the support rope with paracord or a more abrasion resistant rope of sorts.

They catch more than bait!
I love these things, I have 4 now! Plan to replace the tether that comes with it, other than that they work as advertised. You can catch bait with these, but if you like adventure think bigger. The traps collapse and are small enough that I can put them in my larger backpacks on day trips or multi-day hikes. When I make camp I throw them into a creek or slough with some jerky, or raw chicken if I have it, and go about my business of setting up camp. Usually there are a few crawfish in there by a late dinner time, if not there are by morning. Crawfish and grits in the backcountry is a great treat and these collapsible traps make it easier. Make sure you bring a trash bag to put the traps in if you don't have time for them to dry before packing up.

These rust quickly
I was really excited when I got these. Great design and size. Fantastic price. The openings are perfect size for crayfish, and the design which closes the openings when there is no pressure is great. There are two minor issues: 1. They are super-light, so take a long time to sink, and will drift quite a bit if there's a current. 2. The little bags for bait are great if you're using pellets, but don't work well with pieces of fish. The fins catch on the mesh and fish heads often don't fit in the tiny bags. There is one major issue: After using these once (two days in the cold fresh water of a clean lake) they're rusty. And they're not just a little rusty, but so rusty that the rust rubs off on other things the cages touch. These cages won't last. I'm including a photo comparing these cages, with their rust, to the 20 year old cages I also have. I'm guessing these cages were made with something other than stainless steel. I bought 10 of these cages. I'm guessing they'll last 1 or 2 seasons before the rusting thin metal starts breaking from fragility. When that happens, I'll make sure to check for 'stainless steel' as I buy a next batch of cages.

Goth them to have on the boat in case I need them. Tried a couple times and have not caught any minnows yet, but I don't think that is the trap's fault. Mine came with zippers with a Mercedes Benz logo as the pull so not sure if these are made from leftovers in some Chinese factory or what the deal is there, but, if you can get them cheap, they will be great if you are looking for something portable or for compact storage when not in use.

These are good, I've caught over 200 crayfish in 1 trap at once, but the zippers are cheap and flimsy so handle with care and the sewing on the bait pouches is bad , the crayfish unraveled the seam after the second use , really bringing down the amount caught.
