Beyond thrilled
I have had this food processor for about a week now and I am over the moon with how amazing this thing is. I originally had a great food processor, a Kitchenaid that was about 8 years old. I gave it to a friend when I purchased a new Cuisinart food processor with a spiralizer...it turned out to be a piece of garbage that had really cheap parts so it was back to looking for another food processor. My research showed that a lot of the food processors today are made much lighter weight and are made out of less sturdy material. I was not happy with that as they break easily and can sometimes slide around if they're off balance. I was hesitant to spend this much money on a food processor, especially with the varied ratings on Amazon and a few other sites. The good:Right out of the package, you could tell the device was solid. It was heavy, sturdy, and even the plastic bowl was higher quality than the previous ones I had purchased.I am in love with the slicing disc - you can see the difference in thickness of slices. It's great! I can slice incredibly thin or really thick, which is amazing for various dishes and dehydrating! The slices are consistently the same size, no leftover piece thumping around in there after it has sliced the majority of the veggie or fruit. My previous food processors would leave a chunk of food that it would not slice or grate. The sound. This thing is insanely quiet. I did not think there was such a thing as a quiet food processor but this is it. I was not looking for this feature but it's nice. It DOES make noise, just much quieter than the others I've had. I can continue to listen to the audio book or carry a conversation without yelling while using the machine. It's fast. I mean, really fast. Not that all food processors are not efficient but this will slice through the food much quicker than the previous ones I've had.I like the timer. If I need to blend, whisk, or kneed something for a certain amount of time, I can set it. It also tells you how long you've been blending.I like having the option of a large or small bowl but this is not a unique feature to this machine. They do create a leak proof environment so if you want to make something liquid in the top and then move on to chopping something solid in the bottom, you can do that without any issues. The bowls are pretty sturdy.I have not seen gaps that trap food or water that lead to mold/mildew growing. Will update if I find any.The parts to the chute stay in place without any weird twisting to get parts to lock. I love this as my last one was hard to lock the parts together and the small chute would always fall out and thus broke. The small chute can serve as a small measuring cup as well!I really like the storage for the blades. My first one did not have this and it was always tricky to find a place to store them that would be safe and not result in finely sliced finger tips. The variety of discs is also quite nice. The fry blade does thin strips of fries. I have used both of the s blades and they work wonderfully. I have not used the other blades/discs as of yet. There is a brush included to make clean up easy as the device is not dishwasher friendly. The Cons:Size - this is a large device and would not have worked in past apartments where size is a constraint. Be sure to measure before buying! I'm glad I now have a place large enough to store the food processor and attachment box.I would say the price but I have a feeling long term, this device will pay for itself. I did worry about the price and justifying the cost. However, we use the food processor all the time, hoping this will hold up to years of use.Washing - not recommended to put in the dishwasher. This isn't a huge problem, I just hate washing dishes by hand when you have a dishwasher available. However, it's very easy to clean and there is a brush included. There are no other cons as of right now.Other thoughts:I might have to buy the dicing add on as this food processor is amazing to use and would love more control over diced veggies.

Wow I love this machine...
I've been using this for many months now. This is by far, the best food processor I've ever owned (over Cuisinart, Kitchenaid, GE, Black & Decker and the list goes on...).It does everything without effort- butter from nuts, chopped veggies, hummus, purees from veggies for soup. I've made pizza dough and pasta dough in a flash and perfectly. It has yet to balk, spit, stop, heat up or whine about anything I have made in it.The attachments- every blade I have used worked flawlessly, The main s blade fits right to the side of the bowl and almost to the very bottom as well. I have used the emulsifier to make mayo- worked great (but so does just the s bade if the oil is poured really slowly). The small bowl and small blade works just fine for a small load, but I find the big bowl and blade work just fine even for small quantities, and because it cleans up so easily, it's just as easy to use what I keep on the counter all the time- which is the big bowl w/ s blade.Having recently gone through the nightmare of cleaning the newest kitchenaide processor, I was relieved how easily this one cleans. My old Cuisinart DC7Pro was perhaps the winner in the cleanup department, but my Breville is very close.I didn't replace that crappy Kitcheaide with a new Cuisinart because the reviews pointed to a different manufacturing process and the bowl (and BLADE!) had cracking problems in the newest Cuisinarts. So I went with Breville and couldn't be happier. The bowl is very sturdy, nothing leaks from bottom or top, the buttons are few and simple and the pulse actually stops and starts as fast as you can hit and remove your finger from the button. The whole machine is very heavy- a good thing. as it doesn't walk itself all over the counter.I could continue- but just know it's a great processor and worth the money REALLY !PS The first one that came had a clicking sound in the motor. The company rep from Breville made the return process (on their dime) a snap and sent the new one out fast. So customer service and company satisfaction gets a big thumbs up from me as well.
