Great pot if you know how to use it.
First, when I got it, I thought I have no use for it however, I’ve been using it to make great tea. One of the best purchases I have made i use it regularly. I use a kitchen towel to handle went on open flame It doesn’t bother me at all. Not to mention it’s very beautiful. I also saw this same pot in red color when I was in Japan and I knew I made the right choice buying from here. Will definitely get different colors.

Spout is rusting
I read a good review and ordered. After about 5 months of use, I've discovered that there is significant rusting that has developed where the spout connects to the main body. I'm unable to return and was unable to find a way to contact retailer to address away from a public review. It's certainly a handsome pot, but I'm disappointed with the rust. Two pictures attached, one with a teaspoon for size reference.

Unwieldy and dangerous
It's pretty, has a larger usable capacity, and doesn't splatter like the Hario sometimes does, but otherwise it's a disaster. It's extremely heavy, has no lid vents for the steam that signals boiling, the handle gets extremely hot and its closed-loop shape makes using a potholder or oven mitt clumsy & unwieldy to use, and its lid doesn't fit securely--making it necessary to use potholders or kitchen towels with BOTH hands. Its narrow base doesn't fit properly on my gas range's burners, causing flames to lick up the sides or taking forever to boil on the lowest settings. Its weight and the angle at which I need to hold it is very rough on my wrists and I'm terrified I will drop it. The tall angle of the spout is a plus (prevents splattering) but the opening is too wide to do a true "drip" pour. Back to the drawing board--but it will make a nice serving piece, just useless for the actual brewing process.

It's like a piece of art on my stove
I've loved these things ever since I saw them in Japan. True, they take a while to heat up and don't whistle, but they're gorgeous and force me to slow down a bit. The spout is especially excellent for pour-over coffee.
