Versatile, durable and good quality product
As a DIY enthusiast and someone who appreciates precision, durability, and versatility in tools, this Tape Measure has truly impressed me. From its sturdy construction to its dual-scale functionality, this tape measure embodies reliability and convenience in every inch (or centimeter) of its design. One of the standout features of this product is its ability to provide measurements in both inches and centimeters. This dual-scale capability is not only a great addition but also incredibly practical, especially in today's globalized world where different measurement systems are used interchangeably. Whether I'm working on a project that requires precise metric measurements or collaborating with colleagues who prefer imperial measurements, this tape measure seamlessly accommodates both, ensuring accuracy without the hassle of conversion. Durability is another hallmark of the STANLEY PowerLock Tape Measure. This tool feels like it's built to withstand the rigors of any average job site or workshop. Whether I'm working indoors on a home renovation project or outdoors tackling landscaping tasks, I have confidence in the durability of this tape measure to withstand whatever challenges come its way. In conclusion, the STANLEY PowerLock Tape Measure is a testament to quality craftsmanship and innovation. With its dual-scale functionality, good-quality construction, and user-friendly design, it has become an indispensable companion in my toolkit. Whether you're a professional tradesperson, a seasoned DIYer, or a hobbyist looking for a reliable measuring solution, this tape is a worthy investment that will exceed your expectations time and time again.

Solid - good quality.
Perfect size (12 foot) for keeping in the truck and taking into the store when I go buy lumber because it easily fits in my pants pocket. I also like that the case is made from metal, not plastic.

Great value for large work and more-or-less accurate measurements
Good for heavy-duty carpentry/construction work, but man, could this be better. Good features: the tape-lock switch is rugged, the markings on the tape (which is one-inch wide) are clear and easy to read in low light, and there is a helpful marking indicating the lower-edge length of the casing at 3" (and that is accurate). It's made in the US. The spring inside is really robust, so the tape happily retracts quickly, which is nice for the impatient worker. The tape itself is highly curled, so that it maintains its stiffness over long stretches - but this is both a feature and a bug, since it requires you to tip the edge of the tape down to mark precise lengths. This model has only imperial markings, not metric; again, that is both a feature and a bug: it helps to have consistent markings on both sides, but sometimes you need metric measurements, so in that case, you will need a combination measure. The not-so-good features, although not deal-breakers for this price: the case is made of plastic (it's sturdy, and it's made to look and feel like steel, but it ain't!); the tape-lock feature requires a fair amount of force to secure tightly. The truly annoying problem is that the tape lock mechanism, to my mind, is backwards: the tape should automatically lock at all times, so that the user can retract the tape when he/she wants. Why would you want it any other way? Why, Stanley, why? Personally, I wish there was a low-priced alternative offered by Stanley that would switch these features, and could be packaged together: this one, plus another 10 foot measure that has imperial+metric markings, with a self-locking tape that is much flatter.

Not tape measures I trust.
My go to tape measure. I have at least 4 of them and they’ve all lasted forever.
