Meclizine Chewable Tablets - 25mg - Bottle of 1000

This has changed my life for the better. There's a history of vertigo in my family, and I've suffered through it too. Some days, the vertigo attack would be so bad that just moving from a horizontal position induced me to vomit. Now I take three of the 25mg pills each morning, and I'm vertigo-free all day long! I take additional doses throughout a day if I'm traveling or doing something else that used to trigger a vertigo attack, but on typical days, one dose in the morning is sufficient for me. This product helped me so much that I was even able to ride a roller coaster again, something I used to really enjoy but gave up because the nausea was too terrible! It's wonderfully affordable, which I appreciate a great deal.

Most Americans seem to be much more familiar with Dramamine (dimenhydrinate), a relative of Benadryl (diphenhydramine), when it comes to dealing with motion sickness. However, meclizine (bonine, antivert, bonamine) which is another antihistamine, in this case related to cyclizine, is also available over-the-counter in the US and can be effective for vestibular-caused vertigo in addition to motion sickness. There is also some evidence that it is effective on other types of nausea, such as that caused by opiates. One benefit of meclizine is that it can be taken sublingually in addition to orally/enterally; sublingual administration is when a drug is held under the tongue and allowed to diffuse across the mucous membranes into the bloodstream directly rather than traveling through the GI tract. This bypasses what is called "first pass metabolism" and increases both the speed at which the drug begins to take effect as well as what's known as the "bioavailability" of the drug, meaning that since it doesn't have to go through the liver first, more of the drug actually gets into your system vs getting excreted from your body.As for this particular brand and formulation of the meclizine tablets, I have nothing but good things to say really. I have digestive tract paralysis and am unable to take medication by swallowing pills (or by chewing and swallowing tablets). Some brands/formulations of meclizine are made as "fast melts" and dissolve so rapidly in saliva that it's nearly impossible to hold them under your tongue long enough to get sublingual administration. (I've noticed this with the CVS store brand meclizine tablets when I've had to pick some up in a pinch until my supply could arrive from amazon.) The Rugby brand tablets have just the right combination of inactive ingredients so that they dissolve well under the tongue, but slowly enough so that the medicine can sink in, if that makes sense. When I take this medicine (sublingually), I tend to feel relief in less than 3 minutes! It's very fast and very effective.I am on other antiemetics at the same time, but those are taken round-the-clock on a schedule so it shouldn't effect my perception of the meclizine. I also wanted to say that, at least for me personally, these are more effective than the prescription scopolamine patches.

I've been buying this brand in 100 count at my local druggist to treat the symptoms of a long term inner ear issue. There was always a problem getting this. So I ordered this huge bottle and it's solid value. the pills do not get mushy over time and the drug seems to work. Solid buy if you can use this many pills and your doctor says using this drug is a wise choice.

This was first a surprise to find them on Amazon the exact product that my wife and uncle have been using for sometime out local drug stores don’t carry them only can find them in one place and it’s only the small bottle which is at a higher price and at a very limited amount so to find them on Amazon and at a lower price and even three different size bottles it was well worth the price and the amount

My doctor prescribed this medication to me several decades ago. My pharmacist stated it would be cheaper to buy them in bulk.These little pills do wonder for my chronic labyrinthitis. I am very pleased and will continue to buy them from this company.

Picked these up after my dog had a Idiopathic Vestibular Attack, she looked like a turtle on its back that couldnt right herself, feeling like she was falling. Basically old dog vertigo! The Vet had her on 5-days of Meclizine. And I bought the bottle to have just in case she ever were to get dizzy again. I was afraid to see another vestibular attack. She had 2; the first she recovered completely from, three weeks later she suffered from a second attack which was a typical VD one with seventh nerve damage and head tilt, & with her she was totally blind for 6-weeks. Gradually after 6-long weeks, everything came back and now two years later I have only needed to use the Meclizine one other time. I store the bottle in the deep freeze. I did use it initially every day as an insurance against her getting another attack, but she was always so sleepy and very subdued on it. I missed my feisty barky dog, so I stopped giving it to her, and she was herself within 12 hours. So I only use it if I have to, otherwise its in the deep freeze. Ironically, my kidney dog used it as an appetite stimulant. So it has good uses but not in excess!
