Granite Ware 0613-4 3-Quart Covered Casserole
I have been purchasing Granite Ware for my Sun Oven. It's recommended for that because of it's thin walls, and the black color. It converts the UVI rays to heat more efficiently than other cookware.I have used it in both the Sun Oven and the regular oven and I have been extremely pleased with how well it performs. It looks very nice, it's well-made, and it cleans very easily and still looks like new.I was very concerned about purchasing more enamel ware as I have had cheaper enamel ware, and it has not lasted at all. All items of this brand were either returned because they were received with missing spots of enamel on the interior-which QC should have caught and removed from the line, or they were returned to the store before I used them because of anticipated problems. I have two of their Dutch ovens of different sizes on my patio with plants in them. A third one is ready to be drilled out and join them. Both of them lasted less than 3 months. I am not hard on my cooking utensils-I have some things of my mother's, Club Aluminum that's almost 40 years old, and non-stick skillets that are probably over 10 years old and all are in good condition, so it's the quality of this inferior brand that is the problem. The turquoise color did look very nice, though. It added a nice spot of color to my kitchen, and I liked the lightness of the enamel ware as I have arthritis and it's hard to lift heavy, full cooking pots. I still see this brand in the local stores and grocery stores, and now know to avoid it. My first Dutch oven started losing enamel after the third use, and I had not abused it at all. I called their customer service, and they were not at all helpful and said that it was my fault. Given my later experiences, I don't think that it was. The turquoise now adds a bright spot to my patio, but that isn't what I bought them for. I did keep the lids and they do fit some of my cookware that doesn't have lids, so I now have lids and plant pots. I don't anticipate any of these problems occurring with the Granite Ware. It's heavier and noticeably better made than my previous brand. In addition, their customer service is very good. They answered a question that I had very promptly, very knowledgeably and very nicely as well.

Great pan!
This small pan holds a lot of food! I have a toaster/convection oven that holds a 12 inch pizza, so this pan fits well. The only problem is i have to.turn the lid upside down so the lid handle doesn't touch the top element. I cooked 10 chicken wings in it, with the lid on. I added just 1/8 cup of water to the pan first, then i piled in the 10 seasoned wings. I cooked them for 45 minutes, on 375 degrees. I just used the oven part...not convection. They turned out beautifully! Tender, juicy, and they even browned, with the lid on! Next time i will use hickory smoked barbque sauce, or hot wing sauce! Yum!No worry about using acidic foods in this pan!I am planning on cooking a small roast, in this pan, next. I would consider this pan as a small dutch oven. All graniteware are delicate. You can't bang them around, or they will chip. But they are very easy to clean. After baking the wings, i just put dish liquid and hot water in it to soak, for about 30 minutes. It cleaned up easily! I would recommend using a plastic scrubber, only, since this is enamel. But i have not needed to use any scrubber! Just soak, and everything cleans off easily!I love this pan!!! If i take care of it, it should last a long time.I think i will also try making smothered pork chops, with mushroom gravy soon. Will be back with updates. The only reason i gave 4 stars, instead of 5, is that the pan does have a sharp edge around the lid. Other than that, i really love it. The lid fits well. You could make a good size casserole in this pan too!

Great pot for baking bread
Like every other home cook in the country, I've spent this past summer learning to bake sourdough bread. A cast-iron Dutch oven is supposed to be the gold standard for baking this kind of bread, which needs high temperatures and a way to keep the steam in while it's baking, but I'm glad I tried this little roaster first. The label says it's oven safe to 500 degrees F, and the lid--although not air-tight--does a good enough job of holding the steam in that I finally got the "oven spring" I've been after. On the whole it works well for bread baking, and, depending on how you shape your loaves, I think the 3-quart version would probably hold all the bread a small family would be likely to eat over several days. (Sourdough bread won't keep longer than a few days, anyway; it goes stale quickly.) If you're baking for more than two or three people, you might want to go with the larger size. This roaster is lighter and easier to handle than a Dutch oven would be. One caveat: Because it is lighter, the loaves may have a tendency to burn on the bottom. If you encounter that problem, you can correct it by placing the roaster on a cookie sheet while it's in the oven. If you bake your loaves on parchment paper, cleanup is quick and easy. The fact that it's made in the U.S.A. is a plus, as is the price: significantly less expensive than a Dutch oven of similar size. I'm happy with this product and would recommend it to others.

It’s a great all purpose Dutch oven , all purpose pot
I already own a very large pot like this that is foolproof. So I said why not start buying more sizes , even though I do own stainless steel cookware which is great , there’s something about enamel that I love . So I tried this adorable, practical pot and I love it . It’s about 4.5 quarts and I love the square straight bottom that fits so nice on the stove for a wide variety of dishes , which can either store in the fridge or put in oven . This is great for soups, stews, sauces but I must warn you- do NOT attempt to fry in it! This pot is not for frying, not even in 1/4" of oil . It gets extremely hot even with a low flame and will spit hot oil all over the place! If you want a fryer- this is not the pan.

It heats super fast and is easy to clean
It's made of carbon steel and the material itself has nothing to be complained about. It heats super fast and is easy to clean. And the size is perfect. But the design is horrible. For one thing, the lid is larger than the casserole itself and has no hole in it, so steam accumulates on the lid and runs all over my stove top and I have to keep drying it when cooking. And the handles are heat conducting so I have to be very careful when lifting or opening.

Easy to clean / good size
We only had oversized pans prior to this; cooking for two is very easy with this - and it involves less cleaning.
