Works, but deteriorates after one season
I am writing this review about ten months after purchase. There are plenty of reviews of this product's function immediately upon receipt, and yes, it works exactly as intended. My complaint is that it only lasted one season. I bought it July, 2016, and now in May, 2017, it is deteriorated on the top, and has holes that are leaking sand. This is not an issue of abuse or anything, as it is a weight and was filled with sand, put on the umbrella stand, and left alone. So, it works great for one season in Texas. I will probably buy another one, although it is disappointing that it doesn't last very long.

Excellent, easy to fill with paper funnel, strong nylon
Great product, works perfectly with my Abba Patio 9 Ft Market Aluminum Umbrella .Very easy to fill with play sand from home depot 50 #, using a stiff page size paper twisted in form of a funnel (vertically). When you leave one star for not enough weight and you know from description what weight it holds, you are ridiculous! My pictures show the bag in good and stormy weather conditions, umbrella did not move in strong wind and rain!

Did not disappoint.
We were very pleased by the sturdiness of the canvas fabric. We had watched an on-line video where sand was poured directly into the pouch. We didn't really like how it seemed uneven. We were looking for the sharp look as in the picture. So we filled several gallon bags with sand and placed them in the pouch getting a more starched look. Then we put packing pouches on the top of the sand to stretch out the width. This gave it the finished look we were hoping for.

Umbrella stayed secure on a windy day!
Our umbrella stand always had trouble holding down our 7.5 ft umbrella on a windy day.Added close to 40 lbs to this and it did the trick on a very windy day! No more umbrella blowing away! I did have the umbrella closed tightly and secured with its own Velcro strap. Also followed the suggestion of putting painters tape on the Velcro before adding the sand to stop the sand from impairing the closure and it worked.

Easy sandbag to use, and fits great under my patio table
Product is awesome, super easy to fill and close. My only problem (which has much more to do with table than the weight) is that in order to get it to fit into the middle of the table to weight it down, I had to assemble my patio table right side up instead of how the instructions told me, otherwise trying to assemble the unit and add the weight and then turn it over was ridiculous. Other than that obstacle, the sandbag works amazing, especially since my umbrella likes to twist and move in the wind since I'm on the second floor. Long story short, highly recommend!

Solved a problem.
Just what I needed. Didnt love buying and filling with sand, but they seem to work.

Works well so far
We recently bought a patio table and 4 chairs, as well as a great 9 ft umbrella. It was hard finding a heavy, quality umbrella stand that fit under the table and didn't cost more than $100. We ended up purchasing a solid, made in America stainless steel base, but it only weighed 35 lb, not enough to anchor the umbrella in a heavy breeze. That is where Gravipod comes in. It is small and discrete. Fits perfectly over the base we have and is super heavy after filling with nearly two bags of pea-sized gravel. I can't comment on durability yet, but the material seems tough.
