Purchased to power our Ring without an original doorbell at home. Super easy install (for hubby that is)! Basically we don't have doorbell and used this power our Ring Camera; one end hooks up our Ring and the other we inserted into the wall to plug into an outlet inside our home. You have to do some patch works on the wall unless you have an outlet close to your door and just run from the outside in...its and option. Cable is long and works well. We installed over 6mo ago and have had no issues.

I had originally purchased a solar panel for my Ring2 video doorbell. That did not work as I had hoped and unfortunately it was past the return period. :-( With that said, I came across this and although I was hoping to reduce my carbon footprint at least a smidge, this adapter does allow me to use my camera and although it states that it is not to be used to charge the battery ... it does so anyway. Plus, I didn't have to install any other devices as some reviewers stated. I am very happy with this and would recommend that if you are not lucky enough to be in an area with TONS of sunlight on a daily basis for a solar panel ... get this for the Ring2 video doorbell.

This product is really great. At first i was hesitating to use this instead of using direct hardwire for my Ring Doorbell Pro, as my existing doorbell isn't hardwired. But then i am like let just go with it. It really works like a charm. It's just plug and play. I would recommend this product.

In addition, you should pay attention to when installing, Compatible with Ring Video Doorbell needs to be paired with an external resistor, Because Ring Video Doorbell requires a resistor instead of a mechanical or electronic doorbell kit, this alternate configuration can run successfully. External resistor specifications are: 25 Ohms ± 5% 50W Wirewound Chassis Mount Resistor" ===PRE-Seller's action === The product seemed to work properly after first installed, then two months later my Ring Doorbell device told me to charge the battery, then I usage to voltage meter to test the adaptor and it showed zero current electric output using known electrical output plugs from my house. There is no way to contact the seller to get support. This thing should last much longer just like my wireless phone chargers, they last for YEARS, for example.

Had the pleasure of installing four of the ac adapters. They work very well! Much cheaper thank calling a electrician.

Good product work finde but just stop working after 4 months

I bought an Energizer video doorbell, I went to install it only to that my existing doorbell was battery powered and my existing doorbell wires were dead. The camera is only electrically powered. I searched Amazon and found this power pack for a good price. Even though it states it is for a Ring doorbell, I bought it. Glad I did, it works great.
