The stock lead for my HD558s was a bit too short so I gave this 2m replacement lead a try.Fitting the lead to the headphones was a bit tricky because there isn't much of the jack plug showing once inserted and you have to twist it to lock the lead in place. Once locked, it was rock solid.Sound quality is good so far and the 3.5mm plug has a screw on 6.25mm adaptor which the stock lead didn't have (it was 3.5mm only).

I have bought this product twice for the same set of headphones, after the sound stopped working in one ear with the original Sennheiser cable. Personally, it seems to be of a better quality than the original, with quite a soft matt-look casing around the cable, and tasteful brushed steel finish at the connecting plugs. There is a solid bit of rubber sheafing where cable goes into plug part instead of the usual strain relief design. The plug bent at the sleeve on the original replacement, after landing directly on the floor when dropping the device it was attached to.
