Mission Bells - California Poppy Mix Seeds - Approximately 3,200 Seeds

I threw a bag of these seeds around the perimeter of my house hoping to keep the weeds down. These are incredible. I have never seen so many multicolored poppies before. People have stopped to ask what they are and are amazed when I tell them poppies . VERY easy to grow. Buy them you won't be disappointed!! I just purchased another bag to throw the seeds around in my back yard.

Planted as directed. Not one seed grew! Do not recommend.

tossed em all on just plain ol dirt last fall and they came up fine this year. Bought another package this year and expect them to come up just fine next year as well.

I am juuust OCD enough to count all these seeds. Not normally something I would undertake, but my eyeball estimate when looking at the bag was about half the marketing claim, and that fired me up.Turns out there were actually 2,694 seeds in this bag, +/- 20 or so, and not counting about 30 partial seed pieces or ones whose viability was questionable (I just folded those in with the groups of 10 pictured.)The final count is much closer to the 3,200 claim than I thought it would be. And I suppose, if we're rounding to the nearest thousand, then they're not wrong in claiming approximately 3,200 seeds. But I think most REASONABLE consumers are assuming they're rounding to the nearest hundred, or two hundred at most. So 3,000 would've been the lower limit of the estimate.So I'm still fired up and feeling cheated by false marketing. Will be returning.

Seeds came with planting instructions.

So looking forward to the flowers, but nothing grew. Tried to follow instructions but hard to say what happened here. Sowed them on open ground. Maybe I should have tried in a planter first.
