My favorite new club - a game changer.
I find the square strike 45 degree wedge to be much more forgiving and consistent as a chipping wedge than my previous pitching wedge, and still serves as a fine pitching wedge from further out.As someone who took up golf later in life and is a fairly high handicapper, I'm looking to build a club set that is forgiving, yet affordable, especially for the short game. While no miracle club, I do find the square wedge 45 chips much easier and more consistently, especially on shorter swings, where my lighter club often got hung up. The club weight is very conducive to a putt-like, smooth and consistent swing. I'm definitely on target more often with this club. The bounce not only helps prevent the consequences of fat shots and getting hung up, but because I'm not so worried about fat shots, I'm also much less likely to skull the ball.Since I wasn't too disappointed with my current pitching wedge, I started with the square wedge 55 first which was a mistake. I should have started with the 45 and developed comfort with it before purchasing the 55. However, I have no regrets about either. The company and many reviews focus on this clubs as a chipper around the green and that is indeed where this club shines. However, I think it's important to note, it's a perfectly fine pitching wedge and is my go to club from 90 yards or so and in. (I don't hit this quite as far as my previous pitching wedge, but since this is mostly for less than full distance, that doesn't really matter.)I watched a number of video reviews done by very experienced golfers who gave some criticism to this club for it's lack of versatility. True, this isn't a club you are going to open way up and do ultra high lob shots with or work the ball with. However, that's not what it's designed for. It's designed to be forgiving and provide consistency to the game for amateur golfers and I feel it does that very, very well. As with any new club, it does take some getting used to. Obviously this club won't magically compensate for distance, slope, green speed, break etc. That unfortunately still requires a lot of practice. One way I do get more versatility out of this club for chipping is to have 3 places in my stance for the ball, which effectively gives the club three different lofts. (I only use the forward position, hitting out of the rough on very short shots, so the angle of the bounce along the ground isn't an issue)What I also like is that Square Strike now makes some irons that are of similar design. While I don't think those are game changers as much as this club is, it means one can have a set of wedges and irons that are a complimentary set with similar characteristics and an appropriate loft variance between them. I feel this is great for amateurs such as myself who want to bring as much consistency to the game as possible.I've purchased a few new clubs this year, all of which I like, but this is the only one I can say is without a doubt a game changer for me.

Perfect addition to the golf bag for short game
I really love this club. As I've gotten older, my short game has been more and more erratic. This club gives me a consistent, soft lob up onto the putting surface, increasing my confidence around the greens. That improved confidence has taken strokes off my game. In theory, you should be able to accomplish the same thing with any number of clubs, but this lets me use a consistent putting like stroke for straight, soft chips with great feel and control. If you are already on the Tour, you don't need this club and buying this will not get you on the Tour, lol - but for the average golfer, it gives you confidence that you can put the ball on the green from roughly 40 yards out in a consistent and measured way.

Im a new golfer on and off for the past year
The stick arrived today and I didn’t wait to try it out. I didn’t take the plastic off the head when I tried it. I knocked it around the back yard a good 15-20 times and I was highly impressed with the ease of use and accuracy. So the plastic will be coming off and it will be added to my bag !!!!!! Hands down great purchase

It's a winner!
I have had the chipping "yips" for too long and will admit that I was desperate for a fix. I have tried almost everything, so why not try the Square Strike. As for the purchase itself, well...let's start with the bad news, your claim that you cannot hit this club fat was proved untrue within my first few swings with the club. However, that problem was very short-lived, there was an adjustment period with this club, I had to get used to the weight and overall profile. That adjustment period was on the front nine holes of my first round with the club in my bag. I was purposely taking balls I hit on the green and moving them into "chipping range" so I could practice with the club. As the round continued my confidence grew and low and behold on hole number 10, I did something that I have not done in forever... I chipped one in for a birdie! It was a beautiful site for my sore eyes! I have since played about four rounds with the Square Strike and I can honestly admit that my confidence around the green with this club has soared! I love the weight on this club. I can feel it much better when chipping. I had to slightly change my stance and grip but this club is gradually lowering my scores! I don't like the ugly green insert and grip... but the improvement this club has made for my game far outweighs the aesthetics. I give it a FIVE-star rating!

I love the square strike! You don’t have to muscle your way in heavy rough. It’s like cutting through butter, it has given me confidence in these situations. Would recommend to anyone. Thanks for such a reliable club.

Can hit it from a tight lie.
I got this club yesterday, and spent 45 minutes on the chipping green today at my local club. It’s a very different feel than the way I’ve always chipped before. But if I was good at chipping I wouldn’t have bought it. I think that the putter-style position and stroke will end up being a good thing for me, but I have to get used to using a putting stroke for chipping as well as the lower loft (I used to chip with my sand wedge). I must say I don’t see how anyone can use this beyond about 20-30 yards. I mean, the putting motion has no power behind it. So I think anyone who says they use it at 40 yards must be using a more conventional pitching-style swing, and that’s not really what this club is designed for. What I hope it will help me with is fairly sort chips from tight lies. What I fond today was that despite the large bounce, I still found it easy to make good contact from a very tight lie (e.g. fringe). So it’s promising.

This is a nice wedge and at 45 degrees is the about the same as my pitching wedge but it's easier to use around the greens. To me, it's easier to hit the low runner with this than the PW and, once I got used to swinging it like a putter, I was able to consistently put it within 5' of the cup
