This replacement mirror is exactly what was needed for my wife's car. It costs a fraction of what the VW dealership wanted or what an auto body shop was asking for a part off a junked car (if they could find one). The only minor drawback is that you have to paint it yourself to match your vehicle. But that's no big deal to get a can of matching spray paint. The part was everything I expected it to be and I saved a lot of money.

Looks just like the OEM side mirror, except this one has a metal frame to support the mirror which to me is a PLUS!. It also came with the indicator light which was awesome. If you are thinking about mixing parts such as the light, cover from this mirror with the OEM it would fit however you may have to cut/shave off some plastic for everything to fit just right. Once you get it all working, looks, fits, works as expected.

It was easy to paint and then VW made it a little hard to install, since it is really easy to drop a screw into the door (and hard to remove) when installing. Overall, it took me about an hour to install. If you know what you are doing, you could do it in 15 minutes. I spent 20 minutes trying to get the screw I dropped out of the door...
