Worth every penny! Solid performing portable speaker. And it's a Marshall.. C'mon..
Like I was saying, It's a Marshall, I had a lot of faith that they would not allow a mark on their brand name with some junky speaker. However, I was very apprehensive about dropping this much cash on a portable Bluetooth speaker. The biggest review item that kept reoccurring was how low the volume is and it wasn't until you turned the volume knob up to about 8/10 before it really kicks in. And they are absolutely right! But I find this non-linear type of volume adjustment more as a pro and not a con. Think about it, it gives you very fine volume control at low output. I don't know about you, but I don't crank it so I can't hear myself think every time I listen to music or podcasts. I want to be able to finely adjust the volume and when I'm in the mood I can rock out with more than enough volume and kick-ass bass and overall great mids and super fidelity. And that reminds me, KNOBS.. it has actual has knobs.. and Treble and Bass!! I simply can't stand those push-button volume controls you can never find and have to push-hold-push-hold and hope you don't hold it too long or you'll mistakenly advance the track. And I wanted to quickly adjust the bass or treble. Try that on your typical portable speaker, good luck. Most likely you'll need to open some app or find some setting .. pain in the butt. Anyway, long story short, not a drip of buyer's remorse on this one.. and I was really concerned about that. I love the dang thing, goes with me everywhere.

Buy it!
I had the Big Sony speaker with allies the bells and whistles. The XP41 i think. Had lights and flashes of color. It was awesome. Until I turned it up more than half way up. Then the sound got distorted. I was disappointed because I really liked that speaker otherwise. You could actually feel the base. But i like to listen to my music loud and i am obsessed with high quality sound. So I returned the Sony and bought what i knew would sound better. The Bose soundlink. Again, very disappointed. Inhad the first model of the soundlink and that actually sounded better than the new model. I couldn’t believe it. So i returned that one too. I went online researching some more and came across this speaker. I waited till it went in sale and I have been so happy with the sound. I’m also really happy about the design. This thing is so cool looking. Everyone comments on it. I love it! My only real complaint is that I cannot change the skip to the next song or pause from the speaker. This must be done from your connected device. Not a big deal tho bc U can’t go too far from Bluetooth speakers with your connected device anyway. Thanks Marshall! If i had more money I’d buy the whole lineup.

Extremely happy and surprised!
This speaker is perfect for my needs. I bought it for my bedroom, mainly. I listen to music (with a lot of bass) during the day and rain sounds ar night. It works amazingly well for both. I can understand it may not be large enough for a party in large room, but I've never have the volume higher than about 75% of what it can put out. I wonder if other reviewers thought to increase the volume on their device first? Very small and lightweight, so easy to carry around. If I put on my bed next to me, the bass can be felt, which was a cool discovery. Battery latest me 22 hours the first day, so more than enough. Also, I personally love that the bluetooth stays connected. I turn the speaker on, and tap play on my iPad, and it plays; no need to re-sync it. No complaints and I highly recommend this... or a larger Marshall speaker if you plan to play music for large crowds.

Sounds great both front and back
The sound is big and bold. It can be a bit muddy if the bass is cranked up, but it has separate bass and treble controls to manage it. It can be pretty loud but does not require a huge sound to be understandable because of the clarity of sound. In other words, you could use this in a dorm room or outside. Sound comes out of front and back. It takes a while to charge but lasts for days at moderate sound and bass levels. Uses a USB C charge cord, but it is included in the package. It is relatively pricey, but the sound and build quality are outstanding. Has a nice handle and doesn't weigh more than a medium size text book. I would buy again, heck, might have to because my son has commandeered it from me already.
