Lightweight
I really like that It’s easy to put in a spot on your hiking backpack that makes it easy to access and is extremely light weight. I always forget I have it on my backpack because of this.

Difficult to use
My review is a bit confusing I'm sure, because the product does provide value for the money and it came exactly as pictured. I had never used this design of tick remover before, and have attempted to use it several times on my dogs. Because you have to scoop the tick with this device, it's hard to do with a squirmy dog. I found myself pulling the ticks off with my fingers anyway. Maybe I just need to keep practicing.

Doesn’t work on small ticks
Have not had much luck using this on smaller ticks- leaves the head in. Was successful with one larger tick.

Works, but tough to use on small ticks latched onto a long haired dog
We have been using tweezers and a different brand remover that is shaped like an L with a V cut in the foot. I find that those work better for removing ticks from a dog, especially the small black legged ones we have been seeing in the northeast. The spoon style is nice in that you can just scoop down and pull it up into the spoon. On smooth skin, or engorged ticks this worked pretty well. When the tick was not engorged, or if it was buried in thick neck fur, you simply can not get the spoon opening to grasp the head and it shreds the tick into pieces. From there you have to dig out the head with tweezers which is no fun.So this assortment is nice to have on hand, and probably works fine for removing ticks from people. For pets you probably want to have something with a smaller head that comb through thicker hair.
