It does not look at all like the picture. Instead of black, as the picture shows, or Duronotic, which is a dark bronze, it consists of a bright silver body (likely aluminum) and a silvery flecked spray-painted finish on the knob. Compared to other thumb turns, the threading does not continue onto the outer part of the body. The trim ring is a little flimsy (but is not usually provided with most thumb turns). All in all, it's not bad looking, and, while cost cutting is obvious, generally solid, but it's definitely not the finish shown and not solid brass.

As long as you don't use this on a daily use door, and it is a climate control door you'll be OK.
