Recipes need tweaking - read below to fix!
Amazing recipes, but you don’t get the smoothness you are looking for if you follow the recipes as written. We made three trial batches before getting anything smooth. We have a Cuisinart electric ice cream machine and if you follow the recipes, the ice cream quickly becomes a solid ice block. To modify the recipes and get best results, we found that you subtract 1/2 cup coconut milk, and add 1/2 cup coconut cream. This yields amazing results.Best brand of coconut milk we used was Nature’s Forest.Best brand of coconut cream was Coco Goya.Enjoy!

Excellent ice cream recipes even if your not vegan
I got this book because I was interested in non-dairy based ice creams. The recipes I made required minimal tools, and no use of a stovetop. I had to pick up a few ingredients I wouldn't have had otherwise, like agave (Note: I'm not vegan, I just love trying new and interesting ice cream recipes).I made the Mango Habanero and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough for the office (about 8 people) and it was just about gone in no time, everyone came back for seconds.I had a bit of an issue where the freezer in the office was to cold, so we had to let it thaw out a bit before it was scoop-able. My ice cream maker may not have been able to get enough air into the mixture.

Worth the buy!
Delicious recipes that work out and taste great - I’ve made half a dozen or so. Healthier alternative to regular ice cream I’m used to making. What I didn’t like was that all the recipes are designed to make 1 quart of ice cream and use random amounts of coconut milk to fit that rather than a standard 400 ml can. For all the recipes I end up doing annoying mathematics to adjust it to the amount of coconut milk in a can or two cans (1 quart is sort of small for the effort)

Much Ado About Nothing
Meh! I’m not at all impressed with this cookbook. After trying several amazing recipes from Salt and Straw’s cookbook, I was hoping that these recipes would at least come close. Other than being super easy to make there’s not a lot of positives that I could find.I certainly hope that the ice cream tastes much better at each of their establishments.

My favorite ice cream!
This book is phenomenal, just like FoMu (the vegan ice cream shop from which these recipes originated). In particular, the blueberry shortbread and raspberry crumble are amazing (the granola is also delicious all on its own!).The recipes are well written, straightforward and the book itself is gorgeous. Love it!

Recipes come out icy
The book is beautiful. Great photography. The recipes come out icy which is the main problem with vegan ice creams. Good book for getting flavor ideas but I wouldn’t follow the recipes as they are written.

Lots of great easy recipes, must have book if you like ice cream!
I love FoMu ice cream. This book has a bunch of great FoMu recipes, easy instructions, and not a lot of weird ingredients. This could be the best ice cream book I've ever bought. The lavender ice cream is chilling in the freezer as I type this!

Simple recipes, outstanding taste
This book, and the ice cream recipes it has are unbeatable. I stumbled across FoMu ibu chance a few years ago in Boston whilst on holiday and it was tied for the best ice cream I had ever tasted (the other being a artisan gelato parlour in Rome). I dreamed of going back to have it again, so was incredibly happy to find that there is a recipe book now!The book is great, well formatted and nice to read with simple recipes. The recipes are all so simple, and it's great to not have to use the hob. The ice cream I've made from it remains as delicious as the ice cream in the shop. I've had no issues with crystallisation even using a cheap ice cream maker. The amount of coconut milk for most recipes is 600ml, so a bit of maths is required, but I normally use two cans of coconut milk and then add extra, agave / sugar etc. I've tried multiple other vegan ice cream recipes (my parner is vegan and I love I e cream) all with their own issues. This one produced incredible ice cream from ther first batch. This isn't just the best vegan ice cream you'll ever eat, it's equal to the best ice cream you will ever eat at all. Thank you FoMu!

Delicious dairy free ice cream
I got an ice cream maker for Christmas and I bought this book as I am intolerant to dairy, but love ice cream. I did not expect it to be as good, but it is even better than dairy ice cream. The recipes are inspirational - banoffee pie and chocolate pudding ice cream are two I have tried so far. I use 50 : 50 coconut milk and coconut cream. Also add a splash of brandy and handful of hazelnuts to the chocolate. Saying it stores for 2 weeks is fine, but it is all gone within the week. This is a must have book for all ice cream lovers!

Not a fake ice cream
Really nice straight forward recipes. I have tried 3 so far and the latest, salted caramel has turned out the best although the others were good. The vanilla and peanut butter were nice but having changed storage container to a more suitable one for the freezer the set is not so hard so I don't have to wait for it to defrost a bit to remove so from the container.

Yummy ice-cream
Perfect add-on to an ice-cream maker gift. My friend loved it.
