Great Watch ETA vs H-10
A very solid, low profile, comfortable, accurate, reliable timepiece. I have owned the first generation model for three years with no issues and outstanding accuracy of +2 seconds daily with the 28,800 beats per hour quickset ETA cal. 2834-2 Swiss movement. This watch gets more wrist time than most others in my collection. One of the best valued pieces on the market in comparison to other mid tier Swiss watches in the "Swatch Group" which also owns the ETA movement company. The new 2nd generation release of this model now has the new Hamilton "in house" Caliber H-10 movement which beats at a slower rate of 21,600 bph and has a longer power reserve off wrist. Generally, higher bph is more accurate but hear this new H-10 does quite well. I am posting a photo showing the visual difference of the first and second generation Hamilton Khaki King ll Field Watch. I highly recommend this watch. If you like bracelets, get the bracelet model! They are $110 alone through Hamilton and hear tell the pin spacing is slightly off on the leather strap model which deters the later addition of the bracelet. Doesn't fit quite solid with the end links? The King ll has quite long case lugs but does lay on the wrist with a nice curvature. Keep in mind for NATO straps with the longer lugs if you have a narrow wrist.Note that the strap is 20mm and tapers to 18mm at buckle if you intend to swap out straps and use the signed buckle. The strap will need rectangle tang holes for that buckle. The anti reflective coated, domed sapphire crystal looks great! It has a very fine polished bezel which is very prone to being scratched or nicked but looks beautiful against the finely brushed case. This watch isn't trying to be anything but a Khaki King ll. Crown guards are a plus being a push/pull crown screw down is simply not necessary. Stem WR seals are generally in the case tube not the threaded crown. Hope my points are helpful. Please ask any questions.

Tremendous value for a great looking and well made timepiece.
If you are considering spending the money on a Khaki King, I would recommend you do it. There are a lot of things to like about this watch. For the price, you are going to get a lot of bang for your buck, as most Swiss movement automatics will cost you significantly more. The Khaki King has a classic military watch look, and looks great either on a SS band, the leather band, or a NATO band if you're looking to switch up the look. Great day/date functions at the top, dial with clear and well lumed numbers and markers (I've seen some complain about the lume - mine shines very bright for a while, and with eye adjustment I can read it throughout the night, see attached photos). There are a couple of small touches that make a big difference in my opinion. First, the case and lugs have a nice brushed look, while the bezel is a polished, which gives a subtle contrast. Following the same logic of small detail changes in texture, the dial itself has a slight raise in the interior with flat dial, while under the 1-12 markers there is a waved/raised texture, which goes back to raised/flat texture on seconds markers. The nuts and bolts of this watch are great as well - the version I received is the newer version, which has the H40 movement, that has an 80hr power reserve and runs at 6 beats per second. I'm happy to trade a lower beat per second for a larger reserve, and when I compare to my Hamilton Khaki field (an older version) that runs at 8 beats per second, I doubt that the majority of people would be able to see a huge difference. You can manually wind if necessary, and the version I received is hacking, and says "Swiss Made" below 6 on the dial. Lastly, the day/date complication has a small feature that may not matter to many, but to me is an indication of quality. When the watch reaches 12pm, the day and date switch in a split second. Many other watches that feature the day complication take a few hours to completely turn over from one day to the next. This is a very small thing, and many may not notice, as who thinks to look at their watch at 12pm just to watch the day/date complication. To me, it just shows that attention to detail was placed into piece of the watch. Ultimately, this is not only a great value, but an extremely beautiful watch.

Absolutely Fantastic Timepiece For The Money!
Overall this is just a fabulous watch that you won't get tired of wearing. Everything from the quality of build to the finishes to the leather band which smells of real pure leather and is thickened near the lugs while thinned near the clasp. I was sent the NEW version with the 80hr reserve (you can tell by the rotor weight on the back if it has cutouts in it vs a solid weight) and am absolutely loving it. The ONLY gripe I have with the watch is that when midnight rolls around the weekday and date complication change exactly at 11:54 rather than 12:00 but this is super common amongst Hamilton watches and in my opinion is excusable because of how fast the change is. When you watch it change over it's INSTANT with such a satisfying small mechanical noise that is overall just really impressive. The only thing that I can think of that others might not like is the somewhat reflective watch face since there is no anti reflective coating, but honestly I kind of like it like that, you can always tell the time that's never a problem even with the reflections, but it just gives it a really nice glossy look. Winding the watch is not as easy as other watches but still very enjoyable and the overall size/dimensions of the watch are very good not too big but not too small. Also to clarify , I've been seeing many comments about if this watch HACKS or not, and I can confirm yes it does which makes setting the time VERY easy. The old version may not have hacked but if you get the new one it will hack. I've almost never written a reviews on Amazon so this just goes to show how great of a purchase this really was!
