Near perfect condition. Great purchase.
The media could not be loaded. Half way through the book. It is interesting and worth the read if you enjoy reading. Yes all of this information is free on the web, and some is outdated. But its still fun to read and get into the mindset of the classic bodybuilder.

I Had To Get This Book Again
Not too long ago I donated my copy of this tome to a local library. I started working out again and missed it, so I had to get it again. Though the info is somewhat dated, the basics are all here. This was my bodybuilding bible in high school and college. Arnold was a role model. This book is a classic and needs to be in the collection of any serious athlete. I just started hitting the gym again *many* years later, and felt the need to get this amazing book back in my library. Training methods have changed quite a bit over the years, but Arnold's Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding is still an amazing instructional and visual experience.~ Kort

Nostalgic look at bodybuilding era.
I had this book as a young adult in the 80s before the internet, and studied every word and every image for years as I worked to grow muscles and improve my physique. I got this out of nostalgia. I have a feeling the quality of the paper and print is not as good, but can’t be certain. The revised edition was definitely lower quality and many different images of later bodybuilders.

Great Book and a classic in the Body Building arena...
Great Book and a classic in the Body Building arena…I was 1st put on to Body Building back in the mid ‘80s from my uncle who was really into fitness. Since then I have adopted those traits and have been working out for nearly 20 plus years. There is a newer version of the book that all of the members of my team bought and I decided to go back and buy a used version of the original to compare the new one to. Aside from the updates the vision remains the same, as well as the principles that all basic body building adheres to. It’s good to see the old greats and the history of the profession in pictures and words. Body Building today is larger and way more defined but seemingly unattainable by the average fitness Joe. Yet books like these help keep me grounded in my goals and help me when I hit some rough patches in my workouts. I’m an all natural fitness persona who has the fitness philosophy of using fitness to be able to accomplish everyday normal tasks as well as the occasional extraordinary tasks that require more than the average 3 sets of 10-12 reps can attain. But I still follow the fundamentals; I will never be an Arnold, or a Franco Columbu, or a Sergio Oliva, but I admire them all – all the same.

Great book
I had this book before but lost it in a move. Just as good as I remember.

Great book
I had this book back in the 80's when I was in high school and it was my main source for workout routines and learning about proper forms for exercise, what to do, how often, diet, etc. I bought it again for my son who is now in high school and he has his post-it notes all over as he learns the way I did while working out in the basement. Very proud of him. I recommend this book to everybody first starting out with weightlifting. (I do have a very nice workout area with Olympic weights, barbells, dumbbells, racks, etc...so that helps to)

I bought it used through Amazon and picked Discoverbooks as the seller and it is in very good condition even though used
This book came quickly. I bought it used through Amazon and picked Discoverbooks as the seller and it is in very good condition even though used. Just like they said. If you are into lifting no matter what level this book is great. It is huge (the man said he likes big things) and every page is useful. If you want a super-condensed version his book Bodybuilding for Men will get you started fast without overwhelming you. Then you will still want this book. If you like Arnold his autobiography Total Recall is great. I almost never give a fifth star, but it's a Bodybuilding book by Arnold. By the way, there's a Bodybuilding for Women by Arnold also.
