Divinely Inspiring!
Not only did I enjoy reading this book I also took a class with guidance through it from another minister at Unity Of Houston. This book truly open my eyes to so much that I have sought to understand and learn about prayer. The centering with a Divine puts me in a place of deep gratitude and awareness. Thank you Reverend Linda For sharing your Divine wisdom! I have also had the pleasure of attending several of your services with your always heart opening!

Really Answered My Delemma
I have been struggling for years with my definition and picture of God as a spirit/energy not a man sitting on a throne. And with how to pray when you realize you are not praying to a person who grants or denies those requests and pleas of yours. This book was amazing. I still have unanswered questions but isn't that a part of growing and evolving? We are in constant learning mode. This book really helped resolve so many issues. I am exploring more the use of denials and affirmations and have changed my approach to prayer. It feel right. . .for me.

A Guide to Affirmative Prayer
Affirmative prayer to me is active meditation expressed through thought and word. This book teaches and demonstrates how we can transform our thoughts, words and intentions so that they will influence how we see ourselves, others and the world that we live in. Unity of our mind with the Mind that collectively influences us all is what brings lasting peace to ourselves and such peace is naturally extended to others as we practice and utilize affirmative prayer. This book goes a very long way to enable us to be the prayerful individuals that we all can be. Give it a try and see for yourself how affirmative prayer can uplift you and your inter personal relationships to a new level.

I love this book!
After spending many years on my spiritual path I have come to agree with Linda's understanding that God is not some external super-being, but that we are indeed "God". However, for the past several years, my prayer life became nearly nonexistant, since I didn't know how to pray without an external being to pray to. In this book Linda explains not only how, but why to pray. Reading this book empowered me with a roadmap for how to navigate through the challenges in my life, finding the right words to bring forth the Divine in any situation.

A wonderful book! I remember about 30 years ago now ...
A wonderful book! I remember about 30 years ago now when my concept of God changed and I no longer personified God. I came to understand God as everything - all energy manifest and unmanifest. I could not longer pray to God since that meant I was talking to tables and chairs and every thing else. I recommend this book to everyone who no longer views God as a super human who provides what we ask for.

Prayer for the rest of us
I started reading this book yesterday, and all day long I just smiled every time I thought of it. I've never written a review before, and realized that really, the only words that keep coming to mind are, "This book makes my heart sing!"For some of us, the traditional language of prayer simply doesn't resonate. I would encourage anyone in New Thought who struggles with the language of "Dear God" to read this. Thank you, Rev. Linda!

Experimenting with prayer??? Yes please!
Great book. This is a Unity/ New Thought book that teaches the 5 step prayer process and how to use denials and affirmations. The book is concise but gives you the right amount of knowledge in order to put prayer in action in your life. It makes you want to experiment and soul search. I would recommend reading this if you think talking aloud to an outside being is odd.

How to Pray Without Talking to God: Moment by Moment, Choice by Choice
I hate the title, love the book. It's full of really useful ideas that have helped me learn to pray more effectively. It's well organized (probably should also say, "Step by Step.") Anyone who can get past the title into the meat of the book will surely savor it, and might also enjoy the writings of Eric Butterworth.

Kind of a difficult read
I recently learned about Unity so wanted to learn more about how to pray affirmatively. This book is a good guide but I did find it kind of confusing. The author talks about using denials and affirmations but then in the chapter where she kind of puts all the steps together, she doesn't mention using them in your actual prayer as one of the steps. I'm still not confident that I'm praying "properly" according to this method and I read the book twice. It has a lot of good information but I still feel like I need to read another book on affirmative prayer to fully graso the idea.
