I absolutely love this thing. I bought it to cool an HP laptop whose fan died. You have to completely disassemble an HP to change the fan. I thought this was worth a try. It keeps the laptop cool and is ABSOLUTELY SILENT. That's what I love most about it. It really is the best purchase I have ever made on Amazon. The simplicity of design results in a perfect outcome. Nice!The footprint is about the same dimension as the average consumer laptop, probably a little more than an inch thick. You get used to carrying it around with the laptop to where it just becomes second nature. Yes, it is another piece, but for what it provides, that is more than worth it. The only downside is the USB input side of the USB connection which provides power to the fan is a tad sharp -- I have caught a wrist or finger on it a couple times, but is just a scratch; Still, I'd prefer not to have to worry about it.

I bought this cooling pad to cool down our security camera system's networked video recorder (NVR). The NVR has always run hot and I've already had to replace the 4TB hard drive once; so a cooling pad was a must! I have a cooling pad on my personal laptop that cost me three times as much as this one and it has yet to meet my expectations. This cooling pad, on the other hand, is super quiet and does a perfect job keeping the NVR cool. When I periodically check on the equipment, I don't even hear the cooling pad running. The blue LED lights bring a bit of 'tech fun' to what is otherwise a plain and boring NVR box. I've had it working for a month and the NVR is always cool, and the pad still runs like new. It does not come with a power supply, but I just plugged it into an old 2amp cell phone charger. This cooling pad is a must if you have any electronic equipment that runs hot or that uses passive cooling.

This pad is keeping my Roku3 and a multi port switch cool and happy inside an enclosed cabinet....until i installed this USB powered fan, my Roku could become unstable due to heat build up inside the cabinet below my HD TV when streaming and with other electronics running in the adjacent cabinet space. The fan is almost silent, the "cool blue" light lets you know it's running. As I did not have access to a USB powered port on nearby electronics, I bought a standard 6' USB phone charger and male/female USB cable and plugged it into the surge protector power strip inside my electronics cabinet and, voila! The Roku and adjacent gear run reliably and stably without jumpy pix or other issues that had plagued my setup before. This sits on top of a Blu-Ray Player and below the Roku and small switch. Cools all 3.

Well, so far this HDMI switch is working as it should. I have tried a few others and they always become problematic for one reason or another. When I was searching for a new switch, I looked at many on Amazon, and most got bad reviews. The two reasons I bought this one were (a) it did not have any bad reviews, and (b) it didn't cost very much. I have had it for three weeks now and it has not failed yet. I'm hoping it continues to work. It is really frustrating to have a TV that does not have enough HDMI inputs, mainly because switches are so problematic. The best advise I can give it to stay away from TVs with only 2 HDMIs since you will likely need more. I was fine with 2 HDMIs until Comcast mandated using a convertor box instead of the TV tuner.

I'm comparing this to my previous laptop cooling pad, a Microsoft ZC3 which lasted me four years.+ Nice large base, can support large footprints.+ Pass-through USB port on the power plug means you don't lose a USB port when you plug it in.+ The mesh base insures good ventilation.+ Blue LEDs are kind of cool.- Doesn't move enough air. I put my hand on top of the unit and I can barely feel any air flow. That's probably why this unit is so quiet.- Would like to be able to tilt the unit a bit more. Even with the back legs extended, the unit seems too flat.If I ever need to get another, I would probably pass on this unit and look for something else, mostly because of the lack of air flow.

So far so good. I had purchased another, cheaper model off Amazon and it was DOA. Returned that, looked for another and settled on this one. Looks good, has some weight to it, WORKS, and all you do is plug it in. My tv only has 2 HDMI ports. This allows me to have the PS3 and Amazon fire plugged in. Simply push the button on the switch to move between devices. Easy peasy.

I was hesitant to order any product like this because the reviews weren't great for any of them. I bought this one and hoped for the best. It worked just fine for almost 4 months, then yesterday, I had to manually change the input and I didn't change devices. Today, I turned on the TV and it didn't recognize anything on again. I pushed the input button and nothing happened. It died completely without doing anything to it except keep it plugged in all these months.
