Viking Luxury After-Shave Balm - Soothes Face, Moisturizes After Shaving, Eliminates Razor Burn - Sandalwood Scent

This is a really good after shave balm. It not only smells great but also helps with the dryness. Not greasy. Sandalwood scent last quite a bit and gets a a lot of compliments as well.

Good quality. Scent is good, but not overbearing. Soothes razor burn well. Scent lasts appropriate amount of time. Good deal, a little goes a long way.

I'm not sure if this works to help sensitive skin or not. I coupled this with a razor that didn't cut so close to the skin to help alleviate razor burn and other issues that plague those of us with sensitive skin. What I can tell you is that I find the odor to be pleasant and manly smelling. I was also able to shave daily despite having signs of irritation day after day (this is normal for me, but the lack of knicks and cuts on the bumps that inevitably arise were non-existent). I would like to say that this helped in some way. I just don't know if it actually did. I've tried a lot of these products, and none of them fared better or worse when it came to help alleviating razor burn. Still, I don't think this is a bad product if we go by smell, the amount you get it, and the moisturizing qualities with it. Honestly no product will help 100% alleviate razor burn issues with my skin - that product will get five stars from me it ever existed. I'll make sure to update this again since I haven't shaved in a few days and see how this stuff works combined with my new razor.

Fantastic product line with great service. The Viking Revolution shave cream in Sandlewood has a terrific, clean, fresh scent, with a texture that mirrors TOBS. If you aren’t familiar with TOBS, think the texture of thick lotion, a tub cream car wax, pudding, etc etc. The lubrication was very good. I am a tradition wet shaver, so vintage Gillette DE Safety razor( my current favorite is my 1937 Gillette Aristocrat Open comb TTO Razor) brush, bowl, and aftershave. With my Synthetic 34mm knot brush, the cream whipped up nicely, held a good lather, smelled fantastic and performed very well. Stayed slick through the shave, a quick whip up and reapply from the bowl was all I needed between passes. Definitely on par with TOBS, and the other soft creams, fantastic good clean barbershop scent. It is not a heavy scent like some sandalwood, but very clean masculine and unobtrusive. The aftershave on the other hand has a more modern scent not too reminiscent of sandalwood to me, but to each their own. I didn’t care for, but I think my son enjoys it. The performance seems on par, but the scent was not to my liking. Scents are subjective though and I seem to be in the minority as far as not liking the scent, so give it a try. The shave cream though IS a definite winner and I will be purchasing again. Regarding the company; I did need to contact them regarding something( delivery and product were fine) . It was nice to see they already had contacted me to make sure my purchasing experience was pleasant.. They were also very quick to reply and willing to go the extra mile to ensure I was happy. That kind of service speaks volumes in this throw away world! Buy with confidence. These guys are good people.

great smell ; nourishes skin ; will order again

I've been searching for a good sandalwood scented aftershave and this was highly reviewed. I was surprised that I need to use about 3+ pumps to get out enough, but that's fine. The most important thing of note is that, when I pump it, it comes out smelling like farts. The fart smell quickly fades away and leaves a reasonably pleasant sandalwood aroma. That is, the lotion itself smells of sandalwood, but I suspect the gas inside the bottle smells like farts. My assumption, which I'm fairly confident about, is that someone at the factory farts into each bottle before it ships out. Or maybe just my bottle. And so you gotta get the fart out first. No, jokes aside, I assume that something in the lotion off-gasses or degrades in an unpleasant way and so, inside the enclosed bottle, it congeals into a fart smell, even while the lotion itself is OK. I don't like the lotion smell enough to buy it again and the fact the it smells like farts first more or less cements that. I WILL say it has been pretty effective at eliminating my razorburn. It's just a shame about the farts.

I bought this when I started my wet shaving Journey and at the time I didn't understand why it was really good and in my mind outperformed the Prorasso pre-shave cream for lifting the hairs and protecting the skin. Then when I was researching making my own pre-shave oils I realized the ingredients in this one are very good. I would highly recommend this. It's not expensive and if you have any doubt look at the ingredients and check them out.

I love this lotion. Very soothing and cooling after a manscape. It lasts a while, and absorbs quickly with no oily/greasing feeling at any time. Very efficient. I use it after every trim, every shower, and just whenever I need some lotion on my shave. Great stuff, and I will keep this in stock for sure.
