Avana Mattress Elevator - 5-Inch Size - Gentle Incline Under Mattress Support, 5", Queen

I was somewhat skeptical regarding the quality and functionality of this product.I am very surprised and happy, it works well, I finally have relieve.Instead of ordering the cover for the mattress elevator, which is overpriced, and having to try to get the mattress elevator into the cover after washing, I decided to use a queen size flat sheet and enveloped the mattress elevator in it (for the twin bed).

The riser is made from a material which keeps my mattress from shifting off of it. I am really impressed by the materials in it and the reasonable price. If purchased locally it would have cost about 50% more.

After trying wedge pillows for combating gastric reflux over 4 years I found this on Amazon. It came nicely packaged with shrink wrap, looks good under the mattress, but required 2-3 strong people to install under my king size mattress. Fortunately it comes in 2 pieces making it less difficult to do so but I would not recommend it for a king bed. Probably should’ve ordered the 7” instead of 5,” but that much incline would not be advisable due to slippage.

I got the queen size, which comes in 2 prices. It was a little hard to position them because I live alone and my mattress is a heavy memory foam, but I got it after some trial and error. The wedges do what they're supposed to! My acid reflux has become a non-issue at night, and my back feels so much better now that I can use just 1 pillow. However the wedges smelled absolutely horrible after unboxing - so did the box. It was like plastic exghaust. I could taste it for a couple of days, and had to air out the apartment 2x a day for about 4 days, in the middle of winter. The smell has gone down a lot now, but if I get close I can still smell it. Its only been about 1.5 weeks though, so I'm thinking the smell will disappear in the coming month.

I have degenerative joint disease all over my body that causes lots of pain whether on my side or back, as well as GERD, asthma and heart issues that makes it difficult to lay flat, so I use a wedge under my upper body to be higher than my legs and feet. After visiting family over the holidays I knew my hybrid mattress was bad!! We bought a new memory foam mattress & metal support frame with wood slats (for extra support), exactly like the family member has. Although it was much better I was still having issues being comfortable with GERD and breathing. I have used the wedge pillows for years, replacing them as needed, but because they were different than my mattress I didn’t sleep well, changing positions frequently all night. Looking for a new wedge pillow replacement, I happened across one similar to this one. After comparing multiple styles and brands I chose to buy this one in the 5” height.“ (I have a 7.5” half wedge pillow and it’s not comfortable to sleep on because I slide down it.) I was so excited when we got the whole bed set up; the 14” high frame, the full length 5” wedges (2-pieces…easier to position and lift), the new 10” mattress, a 3” pressure point pain relief gel pad, and the bed covers. My husband looked at it snd asked, “how are you going to get up there?” 😳 I used my exercise step platform! It was the perfect angle for my whole body, and best of all my upper body was resting against the mattress pad…ahhhh, so comfortable! 😴 I will never settle for a half wedge pillow under my upper body as long as these type mattress elevator wedges are available. Thank you to whoever came up with this idea!!!😁

The small change in elevation Made a huge difference on how I sleep. Almost eliminated my shoulder pain. Package came quickly.

I’ve used these types of wedges for years to prevent nighttime acid reflux. This one is perfect for me. Some might want the steeper 7” one as this 5” doesn’t feel that steep. But that’s actually what I like about it. Subtle but effective. Good quality, good price.

I was very happy with these wedges for 6 months. I started developing swollen legs in the morning from upper thighs through my calves, which went away during the day. It took a month for me to suspect the foam wedges and removed them from between the mattresses. The next morning I did not have swollen legs. I have no idea if this is unique to me or a common side issue.
