Best aftermarket fan for a N/A FoxBody Mustang
I've owned several Fox body Mustangs over the past 30+ years and have installed many different E fans- Taurus, Contour, SN95,Mark VIII and they all work well.. In this case, I wanted a simple, plug and play install on one of my 5.0's as the existing Taurus fan no longer worked after 6 years. Rather than hassle with going to the junkyard to find another OEM replacement, or buying a new Dorman fan ( that do NOT pull as much CFM as the OEM), I ended up going this route for several reasons.1. I've used this setup in the past and it worked flawlessly for years, keeping a 347 motor making over 400HP cool2. The quality of the fan, shroud, weatherstrip, and controller are good. The weatherstripping and fan make a tight seal and covers most of the fan. The mounting brackets that come with the fan allow alot of adjustability as well as no using the push through connectors that end up causing leaks in the radiator3. It also has a provision to reuse the existing overflow bottle, rather than having to buy an aftermarket one and fab up brackets to attach it4. The wiring contained is good quality and easy to install, You wire up the 2 wires from the fan to the controller, positive and negative to the battery, a positive signal wire, and if you want a wire to the positive high pressure switch on the AC so the fan comes on when the AC is on.5. One of the major reasons is this fan pulls well over 3000 CFM which is plenty enough to keep most cars cool up to 500HP6. The fan does not draw more than 15-20 amps on start up and is much quieter compared to OEM fans7. You can adjust the temperature the fan turns on with a simple twist of the dial on the controller.8. Cost- when pricing out the cost including the controller, I paid about $275. When you price out a new Dorman fan and then other variable controllers that you have to trim and piece together, it was around the same price and again, plug and play. Now some people don't like the radiator temp probe and prefer the screw in temp probe, but I have been using these for 20+ years and never had an issue. Just insert it near the upper hose.Install was about 2 hours with test fitting and routing of wires, and I painted the brackets black to fit in better in the engine bay.

Foxbody Mustang's with Superchargers Be Warned
Hi everyone -I know that when I got this product I had read somewhere that the fit was tight between the crank pulley for the supercharger and the fan itself. What I can say is that might have been when using the stock 6-rib setup and not with the upgraded 8-rib setup. I can tell you that it just does not fit in there with the 8-rib pulley. I had to rearrange the radiator in a way the moved it forward from the stock supports just to get a 1/4" clearance. The fan system itself works great and is easy to install with only a few connections. The box was easy to adjust for the temp range for turning the fan on, and the components seem to be nice quality. So, in the end...if you are not one to be making this modification to the radiator support or to the cooling system in general, this fan is not for you.

Don't waste your money with "cheaper" fans.
I originally had a Volvo fan which I got for free. It didn't have a speed regulator so it ran at full speed, and I found out that it consumes far too many amps and was killing my battery and alternator. I then bought the Proform 67015 electric fan for 5.0L Mustangs... DO NOT PURCHASE THIS FAN! Within a month of me having this fan installed, the blades shredded while it was running one day. I guess they weren't balanced correctly. I noticed a lot of vibration whenever the fan came on, I should have seen the warning sign, but I can't see anything wrong visually and I installed it correctly so I assumed it was normal. When the blades shredded, it actually blew a hole in my radiator. Some of the radiator fluid squirted into my alternator. So no, I had to replace my electric fan, radiator, and alternator... I contacted Proform, and they ignored my emails. So I contacted Better Business, then all of a sudden Proform was very friendly and offered to refund the cost of the fan and pay for a new radiator. Long story short, I got a new radiator, got my money back for the fan, but did NOT purchase the same fan or any other form Proform.Instead, I went with this, the Black Magic fan by Flex-a-lite. One main feature I made sure it had was that the tips of the blades are shielded. This decreases noise and increases strength in the blades. It's a VERY good feature. This kit includes everything you need to install the fan and the adjustable thermostat. Even all of the necessary wires and wire crimps and connectors.I've had this fan in my vehicle for quite some time now, and it works like a charm. Keeps my Mustang running cool and hasn't had a hiccup yet. The adjustable thermostat is very easy to use, and installation was very straight forward as long as you follow the instructions carefully. I am very pleased with this fan. If only I had purchased this from the beginning I would not have gone through so much headaches with these other ones. You might save a hundred dollars with other fans like the Proform, but if it fails and you vehicle overheats, or it does damage to other components, you'll end up paying 3 times as much as if you simply shelled out the extra $100 for a much better fan such as the Flex-a-lite 185 Black Magic Xtreme 15" fan.

Great product
I've had 3 of these in the past on 3 different cars, always worked well for me. Even on supercharged cars. Pulley(on a v3) is close to the fan,but it still works.
