Bought this along with their pepper gel to train my daughter in proper use. Made sure we did it on a windy day to illustrate how it can be an important factor.

Buy them, make all the girls you know use it a few squirts and then give them the real stuff! It works great. It’s water so I made my nieces spray my face while I approached them so they know how it works! Even my mom loved it so she feels confident now with the real deal!

I'll be the first to say, I don't write reviews on anything, even if I don't like it. Not unless it's something positive. But for this rare occasion, I think people should be aware of what they are purchasing. I bought this practice spray for an independent film project, so nobody would get real pepper spray in their eyes.While setting up for a scene in our film, my helper did a test spray on the ground (inside room) and begin gagging and coughing uncontrollably. I thought he was crazy and asked what was going on, but he couldn't catch his breath. We opened a door and I still was under the impression he was off his rocker. I asked to see the item and read the side out loud which stated it does not contain real pepper spray. Moments later, I walked past the area he sprayed it, and immediately felt a strong tickle in the back of my throat, causing me to cough.I'm not saying anyone else will ever have this issue (hope they do not), but there was evidently some cross contamination somewhere. Because my helper, could not catch his breath fully for a good 10 minutes and it wasn't even sprayed directly in his face.

Bought a mace to carry so I thought I better know how to use it and what it smells and feels like. Bought these go practice with so I didn’t accidentally have an oops. Actually easy to use no issues. Went to use the real mace and it shot not even a foot of a weak stream of a lightly scented chemical. Decided to ditch using mace for protection since it is unreliable (didn’t expire until Oct 2024). But these performed as I would have expected the actual mace. Worth trying it.

I saw some negative reviews on this product. A lot of them were people complaining that the item didn't work properly because it only sprayed water. Since it's listed as a training unit and the listing plainly states that it shoots water, I'm not sure what the problem was. It looks and works like it's supposed to. It's a great way to help someone get accommodated to the mechanics of using the "real thing". As far as the review that said their unit shot pepper spray or mace, I'm not sure. It's a reliable company. I'd just read the package before using. Also, can't hurt to examine the package to see if it's been tampered with. I ordered two and both work and are exactly as advertised.

In order to be ready to use pepper spray for self-defense, you need to practice so you know how to use these streams. Buy a bunch, an practice a few times a year to make sure you can deploy and hit the target. These work great.

This is not pepper spray. I was completely duped by advertising and did not understand that this a trainer containing water only. HUGE waste of money.
