Pretty hot little radio!
This is a very nice little radio. The 4 features that were most important to me were: 1) microSD card support 2) a telescoping antenna for better reception 3) presets for stations 4) USB recharging. The system allows a 64GB microSD card and switching between directories on the card. This is more music capacity than most will need. Most of the buttons in the control section are station presets in radio modes and navigation controls in in other modes. Radios this size do not produce high fidelity, but the sound is good and satisfying. I have not tried using it as a music source for a HiFi system. Possibly it would supply a HiFi signal to such a system. The little key-like piece that come attached to the lanyard is a nice addition that allows the radio to stand vertically on a flat surface. I have 2 suggestions for a future design upgrade: 1) a shuffle setting for recorded music and 2) a bass boost circuit. I notice some reviewers complain about that the card slot stops working over time. I would guess they are swapping cards too frequently. With a 64GB memory card and the ability to have multiple directories one should be able to load plenty of music in very access able ways: 1 album or playlist per directory?

Great little radio
Ok, I really like this radio. It goes to work with me quite often. The biggest problem is with the plug in part. It quit after a month. The plug will not stay in on its own. I have had to resort to a plug from a different device and it has to be wiggled and not moved until fully charged. It sounds good still.

Just right for work
Use at work for my 12 hour shifts. Battery lasts about 5 1/2 hours before dying. Keep a portable charger with me so no worries. Nice sound and perfect size

Pass on this one.
Bought this radio because it said it could be charged with *ANY* compatible USB cable. False. You need a rarely found mini USB cable. (We have a dozen USB micro cables, but not 1 mini USB.) Bad design. Not sure why they couldn't have chosen a standard cell micro cable. The rechargeable battery is the rarely found, expensive BL5C. Good luck finding a replacement during an emergency. Bad choice. Not sure why standard, rechargeable AA couldn't be been used. All the buttons are blank. But the labels appear BETWEEN the buttons instead. So you never know if the labels refer to the button above... or below. The very tiny buttons could have easily been twice as big, and easier to hit, and labelled. But they aren't. All the buttons are raised, instead of recessed in, so you'll be hitting random buttons if this is ever put into a purse, pocket, or bag. The hand-strap is permanently attached and has to be cut off with scissors if you find it annoying. A tiny "key" is used in order to get the radio to stand up. Plug it into a keyhole on the back. It's so small, the radio will easily fall over if you try to change channels or touch it in any way. How hard can it be to make a simple radio with some decent features? Or even some common-sense features?

Good volume in tiny, easy to use package
I live, as I imagine most do, in a noisy neighborhood. Loudly barking dogs All. Day. And. Night. Long. Louder and louder aftermarket modded vehicles. Boom cars. Sirens... And now we know noise threatens heart health and can even take years off your lifespan. The only way I've found to take the edge off unwanted loud neighborhood noise is with special white noise tracks designed to mask outside noise. But it's tough to move large stereo systems all around my home depending on the room I'm working in. This little machine works terrific for three big reasons: 1) You don't have to keep pressing buttons to turn the machine on. So as soon as you need to play a track, you just slide the on/off rocker switch to ON and the track begins. No more press-press-press 'til your fingers hurt, waiting for the machine to activate. 2) Despite the machine's tiny size, its volume can get so loud I ALWAYS have to turn it down because I don't want to disturb others in/near my home. I had a tiny MP3 player I was using for the same purpose, but its volume was ... toylike. Not so with this machine! 3) This machine plays, in addition to AM/FM radio, music/tracks via micro-SD card. Even better, if you leave the SD card in the slot and turn the machine off, the next time you turn the machine back on, it'll start playing FROM THE SD CARD IMMEDIATELY. I used to have to fiddle around with modes, settings, and buttons before just to get back to a single track I wanted. No more with this machine. Set-it-and-forget-it. Bonus: there's a "repeat" function/button. You can repeat one song or one folder. Another bonus: no garish, sleep-disrupting on/off noises OR green/blue/yellow lights. Now some caveats. First, the instruction manual warns that SD cards must be formatted as FAT32 and the files must be only MP3. So no FLAC, WAV, AAC... formats. This is a big limitation, as discussed next. Minus one star. Second, I couldn't get the USB port to work. I formatted an 8GB memory stick to FAT32 then placed a single 86MB MP3 track onto the thumb drive. The machine wouldn't recognize the memory stick no matter what I did. Minus another star. I use mostly SD cards b/c they're smaller and you can just leave them in machines without having to dismount before ejecting... But it would have been nice to have the USB function in case of emergencies. Lastly, I couldn't get music to play THROUGH this machine when connected to my Iphone via 3.5mm audio cable. As with the USB connection, nothing happened. :( If all you need is an SD card player for higher frequency noise (this machine gives no bass at all), then this is a worthwhile option at low cost. But if quality of sound (music...), formatting options (USB...) and audio codec options matter to you, look elsewhere. Also, if you need reliable, out-of-the-box USB functioning, look elsewhere. I may buy another brand to see if I can get the USB functionality this machine is supposed to have but at least for me doesn't AND the instant on, no button long-press functions this machine does have. I know this was a long review, but dealing with ever-increasing noise can be exhausting. Since legal jurisdictions won't take noise problems seriously, consumers have to find machines to protect ourselves from outside noise infiltrating our homes. Most audio machines on the market, though, aren't designed specifically for this purpose. These little machines, like the one reviewed here, can help. Tip: pair this device with a larger audio player that has excellent bass. Run the high frequency white noise through this small player (or a similar one) and the low frequency white noise track through the large, bass-heavy audio player to counter most outside noise.

I need something small to repeatedly play my micro id card audios. After I returned 2 I bought from Amazon, finally I got the right one. It’s small but works very well. Sound is loud and one charge can play a long time. I decided to buy one more. Thanks for the great products.

I love the overall look of the sleek ultramarine blue and the fact that it's ready to use out of the box(just had to put the BL-5C rechargeable Li-ion battery in). It's light, portable and small enough to fit in the palm of my hands and even slip into my pants pocket. The 3W speaker definitely packs a punch; it's incredibly loud and crystal clear, it's perfect for entertaining. I would recommend using the antenna(over 1 ft. long) in more of an open space or closer to a window to pick up more AM(58)/FM(28) channels during auto-scanning. The battery itself is spectacular(had it at low to medium volume), it kept going to the point that i lost track of how many hours i got out of it before it completely powered off(display flashes before it shuts down & according to the user manual charging time is 3-5 hours). I personally wish the indicator light would either come off or change colour so i know with certainty that it's fully charged but on a positive note you can still listen to music while it's charging. It's extremely versatile; it comes equipped with a handy LED flashlight, a convenient gray carrying strap with a silver key on the end that's a stand for the radio, it gives you the freedom to play your own personalize music(plays only mp3 files, i tried wma, m4a, flac, aac & ogg and wasn't successful) from either a USB flash drive/Micro SD(can use a USB 2.0 card reader instead of a SD card adapter if you like), it can even charge or play my music from my Hipstreet mp3 player and my favourite of all is being able to use my 8-LED USB light(perfect to see the buttons at night) and flexible mini laptop light(pretty sure you can add a mini USB fan to the list). Lastly if you're thinking about using a Bluetooth adapter it's not going to work, i tried and failed with 3 different adapters. Functions: 1) The Skip/Previous Button is also the Fast Forward/Rewind button if you keep pressing 2) It automatically detects and plays USB/Micro SD and resumes exactly where you left off with your music. You can even pause and resume with the radio as well. 3) Can choose to loop a specific folder if you have more than one, play all or just repeat a specific song Overall i love it, i think it's pretty close to perfect; it's mobile with an amazing sound quality and most of all it's multipurpose. I would definitely recommend especially when you have an After-sales Service that offers: reply within 24 hours, 30 days no questions asked returns policy and a 1 year warranty.
