Sebastian and Ailin are everything
I've been looking forward to this book since I first read The Enchanter's Flame. Michele Notaro has become one of my top favorite authors. She's a brilliant writer with quite the evil streak. This book picks up just days after the first one and it spans over the course of a few months. I loved that.Where book one was told from entirely Sebastian's POV this one is mainly from Ailin's POV with some Sebastian chapters thrown in. I do not like single POV. There are two sides to every story and I like seeing those sides. But I love the format of this series. I love being in Ailin's head because there was so much we didn't know about him and about the supernatural world in book one so it's good to see the world through his eyes.Sebastian breaks my heart. I feel so much for him. I hope he can get a better handle on his magic and himself because he deserves to live a fulfilling life. He's spent so much time alone that it kills me. He's so lovable and broken. I just want to hug him sometimes.Michele Notaro is totally evil and completely broke my heart. There was *spoiler thing* that took me by surprise and I cried.I cried so much. My poor heart. I knew something was going to happen because I could feel it, but I didn't expect something so dramatic after what had previously happened to them so bravo to the author on the feels because there are a lot of them. I want to cry again just thinking about it.The prophecy part of it is brilliant. I love how it was woven and how it's slowly unfolding. The way the prophecy reads I knew that whatever was brewing in this book was just the beginning. A lot of creatures came out of the woodwork. You could feel the tension, but it wasn't until it happened that you were able to put your finger on it. That was brilliant writing.I love how they built their relationship over the whole book. How they dealt with Seb's magic. How they work together, how the coven loves Seb. The build-up was subtle, but I loved it. My heart was in my throat for the big reveal. I had tears in my eyes and when it was all over. I felt all the love between them and the need. These two together just work, even through all their struggles. They needed to fight for each other because they both have strong personalities that could and does drive the other crazy.Sebastian and Ailin are two of my absolute favorite couples and now I have to wait for Michele to write the third book. Ahh, it's going to be a long wait. I will definitely be rereading this book, and that isn't something I'm able to do often. But this book deserves it.

Amazing series
The Elwood Chronicles series is amazing. Even without knowing the characters at the start of The Enchanter’s Flame, the story, the character development and world building hooks you in. You just need to know more! With each book, I became more and more invested with not only the main protagonists but also the secondary characters. The books blend magic and romance expertly, and the slow build of Ailin and Sebastian’s bond was an excruciating tease, and yet sooo satisfying when it all broke through. The story has unfolded beautifully and seamlessly and I cannot wait for the next book!

THE FEELS!
***POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT!!!!****"You can see it?" Ugh! Michele put SO much feeling into that one sentence that i started crying!!! This second installment had absolutely everything that i look for in a paranormal/fantasy read. Some angst, laughter, tears. Oh the feels! This was the absolutely best. Although, i truly disliked Sebastian in this one. I felt like he was so selfish and invalidated Ailins feelings. Its like he knew he was hurting Ailin but didnt care. Ailin was amazing. I loved seeing his vulnerability and all of the challenges he goes through on a day to day basis. Oh! And Emrys! Oh my goodness. Im going to leave it there. Honestly if you dont read this you are missing out!

Couldn’t finish.
I couldn’t finish this one. I was able to accept the magical world, albeit with some feelings of corniness, in the first novel, but I just couldn’t do it in the second book. I pretty much stopped at 75% when I read the line “No one answered as they swirled their own magic and threw energy balls over and over again [...].” This was the final nail in the coffin of my issues of this setting. I guess I am used to reading fantasy with really compelling worlds that are described impeccably. This book was just laced with “my magic did this, my magic did that.” This was my main issue.Other small things that bothered me were Ailin’s attitude towards his ex and the new boyfriend, Sebastian’s constant need to know everything for fear of being abandoned, and the endearment term of “baby” (I know this one is a very personal “me thing” because I just don’t like this moniker) - I was on Sebastian’s side about this until he gave in!I really wanted to like and complete this series because I did enjoy the first one (and even pre-bought the third one when I was feeling ambitious). I may still try and read the ones about Basil and Thayer but I’m not sure. I just couldn’t subscribe to this diegesis any longer than what I did. It is a novella, so I don’t know if I am right to expect more, or if I am meant to suspend my disbelief while reading brief stories.

A fantastic magical universe
I am soon loving the Ellwood Chronicles! The story line is great, moves along at a good pace. The secondary characters are a little more invested and you can't help but love them. This universe she has created is awesome! Can't wait for book 3!

Very good
A great story. I really enjoyed following Sebastian and Ailin's story. The story moved a little faster than the first book, with not quite the same amount of details. It was very well written, no noticable mistakes, and held my attention. I loved it and will be watching for the next in the series.

Beyond amazing!
I adored The Enchanter’s Soul! I had high expectations after The Enchanter’s Flame and it surpassed even my high expectations.I loved the twist that most of the POV was Ailin’s with only a few from Sebastian. The story, just like in book 1, was gripping and thrilling. Michele Notaro has a true talent for storytelling that had me eager to read more. The story seamlessly continues and grows from that in book one, and gets better as we learn more of the world.I was left at the end of the book wanting more - both of Seb and A, and of several other characters in the book (that I’m hoping get their own stories!). A truly amazing read that will resonate within me forever and leave me anxious to reread to be taken back into the world again.

Can’t Get Enough
Well Damm! This book was utterly amazing even though it had me wringing my hands with worry at a certain part. Seb is finally beginning to trust Ailin, but still struggling with control of his powers. Basil is being a total jerk towards Thayer and there’s serious trouble on the way. Desperate for the next book Michele
