WiFi License Plate Backup Camera, 720P HD Car Rear View Reverse Camera Work with Most Smart Devices, IP68 Waterproof, IOS13 OR Above NOT Compatible

The media could not be loaded.  I bought two of these cameras to install in my two vehicles. Trying the camera before installing in the car was misleading. Yes, you can see it in your phone. And it seems to be responsive. On the other hand when you install in the car things get more iffy. First the antenna is tied to the connection cables and it's difficult to place in a favorable location. If you install this camera in a natural location like just above the license plate, there's a lot of metal in between your phone and the camera which blocks the signal quite effectively. Initially the seller provided support and helped get through some issues, for example connecting to the backup lights is not recommended because of voltage drop from the light bulb (a bummer really because this is the optimal connection method). I had to use a special cable they provide that hooks into the lighter socket and has a switch to power the camera, add that to having to start the app on your phone to see and by then I had already parked using the rear view mirrors.....The image lagged about 1/2 or 1/3 of a second, and at times it froze. You can see the freezes in the attached video which was my best result (In the worse one it goes at about 1 frame per second or less.....). This delay may look tiny but when in movement you can easily hit a car before you know itI exchanged emails with the seller which initially provided support but when my second camera died while I was testing it outside of the car they simple stopped responding. It was the day before my return window closed and I missed my chance to send it back for a full refund. It seems to me the technology for wifi cameras need to improve or you may have to pay top dollar for one that works. In any case I recommend wired cameras for now or a very extensive testing of any product you buy before your Amazon return window closes.

Fortunately I was smart enough to test the camera before drilling any holes or connecting to the backup wire on my RV. The camera comes with a cigarette lighter adaptor to power it so I used it to test the camera. The recommended app is the F-Car app and I installed it on both Android and iOS devices. The camera sends out the wifi signal and connects with the devices fine but will not transmit a video. No image, no use. The wifi device name is V-Car so I also installed the V-Car app and got the same results. The manufacture is difficult to connect with and is not timely. I leave on a trip tomorrow and will have to go without a backup camera now. Not very happy. I returned the camera. Thank you Amazon Prime for making the return simple. I DO NOT RECOMMEND PURCHASE!

So I went through the installation process and downloaded the app. Everything works great as long as I’m standing right next to the camera. I own a Ford F-350 and have mounted the antenna in all sorts of locations (mostly near plastic parts) and I can’t get a signal when I walk more than 4’ from the unit. My truck has a 6.5’ bed and is an crew cab but surely this thing can transmit greater than 4’. We’re only talking maybe 12’. I have a drone that works off the same principle and it flies 30’ before I start to see a diminished signal. What’s the issue?

This is a great idea but it needs work.This camera is very easy to install. Attach the power wire to reverse circuit, download free app for your cellphone, link the app and camera thru WiFi and you’re up and running.The wiring harness has very thin wires. It would be easy to break the wiring. The camera image studders some but you get a clear image in reverse.You have to manually start the WiFi each time you shift into reverse. If you have to Pull forward and back again, you have to start the entire linking process again. If the wiring harness was upgraded to automotive grade wiring and if the camera would hold the WiFi link for 3 to 5 minutes before requiring a re-start, I would give 5 stars.

Great backup camera The additional installation hardware was more than expected. You get a cigarette plug with a on/off push button wired I used to test the unit before installing. This or the wire w/ connector can be used to install the camera. You also get extra splice connectors, wire ties and the QRs for both. IOS and Andorid making is quick and easy to install the app.For the price, it is well worth it and simple to install. I would gladly recommend this backup camera. By the way I am a senior principle electrical engineer.

Me gusta mucho la cámara, es fácil de instalar, opte por hacerlo directamente con el encendedor del vehículo aplastando un tope para encenderla o apagarla, el wifi funciona muy bien apenas enciendes la cámara el teléfono se conecta con el wifi de ésta y al abrir la aplicación aparece la imagen de la cámara trasera, algunas veces se vuelve la imagen lenta y congelada pero la mayor parte de las veces la cámara es fluida, puedes mantener encendida la cámara durante todo el tiempo que estas circulando y la aplicación te da la opción de grabar y guardar los videos en la aplicación,incluos sirve hasta para espiar pues si estas cerca puedes mantener la cámara encendida y desde afuera a una distancia cerca estar observando lo que se ve. Aconsejo adquirir los sensores de cercanía pues no se puede determinar la verdadera distancia con el objeto al dar marcha atrás a pesar que también proyecta las lineas paralelas de estacionamiento.

Decent quality camera, but the WiFi connection is kind of funky. Camera WiFi connections automatically to the phone, but the app does not recognize it. I got it to work but (1) Starting the app after the camera (and WiFi transmitter) gets power. (2) Tapping the WiFi icon in the app to confirm that it is getting a signal. (3) Forcing the app to stop. (4) Restarting the app. Needless to say, I can't jump in the car, throw it into reverse and start backing up right away -- well I can, I just not using the camera.

Arrived quickly and easy to install, BUT it's not transmitting a strong enough signal to reach my stereo from the trunk of my car.. really kind of defeats the purpose of buying a wireless setup altogether. I didn't want to take apart panels to run wiring and the simplicity of the wifi connection would have made this much better. Not working well for me though
