Emotional anf heartwarming!
We Own Tonight by Corinne Michaels was an absolutely beautiful story. I devoured this book. I loved how real and raw Eli and Heather were. Yes, Eli was a celebrity, but at the heart of this story, he was only a man.Eli Walsh is what dreams are made off and Heather did plenty of dreaming and fantasizing about Eli Walsh for years. Eli is part of the boyband Four Blocks Down that Heather and her friends have crushed on hard. For her it has always been Eli. Her friends decide they need a night out to remember their youth and their love for Four Blocks Down, so they attend their concert. The last thing Heather expected was to have a one-night stand with Eli. She is not that kind of woman. She has responsibilities she takes seriously and finding herself mixed up with Eli Walsh is not responsible. So what is a girl to do? Grab her clothes and run. But running from Eli is not so easy!I loved Heather. She was strong and independent, but also vulnerable. Life has not been easy for her and is full of complications. She is responsible for her sister, who is ill, and needs to be constantly cared for. She has a very stressful job and an ex who broke her heart when she needed him the most. Eli Walsh is not a welcome distraction in her life. However, Eli was one determined man. There was something about Heather that lured him to her. It did not help that he was gorgeous and charming, but he was also irresistible and determined to win her over. He finds ways to show her she is important to him and is willing to accommodate her needs and wants. I seriously loved Eli.After being let down by her ex, Heather finds it hard to depend on anyone but herself. However, Heather slowly lets Eli in to her life and heart. Though she is apprehensive, he wins her over with actions. I loved the lengths Eli went to show her what it means to have someone in her life she can count on. But when tragedy strikes, will it be too much for them or will they find a way to move forward together?I loved We Own Tonight by Corinne Michaels. It was such an emotional story, but also heartwarming. I loved the story, the characters and all the feeling evoked while reading. To me, Corinne gets better and better with every book she releases. This is a must read!Happy reading!

Eli and Heather will definitely capture your heart!!
4 - 4.5 stars!Corinne takes me back to my teenage years of being infatuated with multiple different bands. I'm showing my age by saying "boy bands" weren't really a thing when I was a teenager, but damn if I didn't drool over the guys in Foreigner, Van Halen, White Snake, Def Leppard. Yeah, like I said, I'm showing my age! What would it have been like if I was standing in the crowd and the lead singer of one of those bands had pulled me onstage and sang a love song to me? I probably would have peed my pants! Well, this is exactly what happens to our heroine, Heather. She gets pulled up onstage by the guy she's been crushing on since she was a teenager. And not only does he sing to her, but he invites her backstage after the show, and wants to take her on his tour bus....Heather doesn't do this kind of thing. Ever. She's not this kind of girl. She's a cop for one thing, with a ton of responsibilities on her plate. If it hadn't been for her best friends, she wouldn't even be at the concert in the first place. She'd be with her sister, who she's been looking after since she was 21. But damn, it's Eli Walsh, and he's gorgeous and sexy and he's looking at her like she's everything, and he wants a night with her. Should she? Can she?Corinne knows how to write that push and pull dynamic between her characters. She's got that down pat, and in this case, all the pull comes from Eli and all the push comes from Heather. She doesn't have time for a relationship with Eli. She has too much going on. And he's a superstar, starring in his own TV series on top of being a talented musician. Sure it's been 20 years since his band first hit the stage, but the fans are just as rabid now as they were then. Can she deal with his fans and his stardom and the demands of his career? What about the demands of her own career, being the only female cop amongst the sea of men, one of them being her ex-husband who just so happens to now also be her supervisor.I've seen Corinne post about how this is a funny book, and at certain times I did laugh at the hilarious antics and verbal vomit that comes from Heather's best friend Nicole, but for me, this was a serious read, dealing with multiple topics that were pretty heavy. Heather's sister Stephanie just tugged my poor heart all over the place.Eli had me swooning. That man was just relentless in his pursuit of Heather. Even though he was a TV star and a musician used to the roar of the crowd and the excited fans, he was really just a guy, real and down to earth. The more Heather gets to know him, the harder it is for her to resist his charms and his affections and his desire to find out where their relationship can go. But can she fit into his world?Corinne injects her signature snark into Heather and Eli certainly has his work cut out for him with her. Not to mention she can probably flip him over and restraint him in 10 seconds flat, AND use her own handcuffs. This story is sweet, and yes, funny at times, but also packs an emotional punch! Readers will swoon over Eli and laugh/cry right alongside Heather. A definite must read!

Rockstar Romance at it's best!!!
WE OWN TONIGHT Second Time Around - Book #1Eli and Heather's Story Rockstar / Police Woman tropeI just love a good rockstar romance and believe me, Ms. Michaels blew me away with Eli Walsh. Heather had been his number top fan for forever. She and her friends attend their hometown concert staring Four Blocks Down where Eli is headlining. During the concert, Heather shouts out her undying love for him which gets his attention. Now he's got her on stage and there's an intense attraction. This is an instant love kind of story. They meet up after the concert but Heather panics and runs off. She's not a one night type of girl. This definitely becomes a challenge for Eli. The back and forth was believable. Heather's life is complicated having to watch over her sick sister. There's so much emotion in this book and I couldn't get enough!!!

Every woman wants a man like Eli. I really enjoyed this book. Love and tragedy. Arrogant super stars. And a woman who finds her strength again.

Working through this Authors reading list and I am never disappointed. This story pulled at my heart because of all of her loss. But what a great friend she had to help her along the way.Narration was amazing.

Just a stunningly beautiful read
I love this woman - her words, her ways & her wisdom that continues to deliver such strong, beautifully developed, inspirational characters into my world. These people soon become friends, their stories become one I can touch & feel deep in my bones & whether I’m laughing or crying, it’s because every word strikes a chord, every scene is a glimpse of a moment time I’m hopelessly lost too."We can't worry about tomorrow, we can only own tonight." Sigh – I mean – how true is that statement??! And for me, this is the backdrop for this entire gorgeous story of love & hope.Heather & Eli are just stunning. I won’t give any spoilers, but I will say who they are is a result of defining moments in time. Moments that hurt. Moments that bring anger, but most of all moments that close off your heart, because it’s the only way to protect yourself.Heather is my idol in so many ways lol. Gawd she literally did live every single one of my girl dreams & nailed it. I smiled so much at her & her friend’s antics, laughed loud & proud at her reckless behaviour, but also cried big fat sobs along with her, in her times of despair. She is brave, fierce & special. A truly gorgeous heroine to her very core.Eli.. HmmmMmmmm Man-God, Lead Singer, Actor, Sexpert – this man has it all. But let me tell you he is no fake ass. This man’s heart & life struggles stole my breath. He is the kind of hero that makes your pulse race & your heart soar, because he is so damn beautiful. He is beyond handsome, a wayyyy beyond macho. He is protective, supportive & giving. His heart is as big as his charming ego – which is massive lol, but it doesn’t in any way make him a cocky jerk, instead it makes him even more loveable & endearing.I truly can’t recommend this book enough. Once I started I couldn’t put it down, as the story & its characters swept we away so effortlessly. It’s fair to say when I reached the end I was gutted, I hate having to say goodbye to the ones that leave their mark – the ones you long to spend more time with.5 Beautiful Stars
