We always use turbo carbon, turbo yeast and turbo clear for every batch of wash and have found it to produce excellent quality product.

I like it because you don't have to add yeast nutrient, it's already in it. Everything you need.

Its ugly and messy. The black gets everywhere, and clings to everything. DO NOT even think about using it without using Still Spirits Turbo Clear! If the carbon is not removed before distillation, everything the carbon trapped will be release in the still. HOWEVER! My carboys have a thin black film not worth the trouble to remove, but Turbo Carbon and Turbo Clear leave me with a sweet, clean wash. Follow the Turbo Clear directions, and the carbon settles to the bottom in less than 24 hours, and the wash is as clear as you could hope for. 10 lbs of sugar in 5 gal of water with Fleischman's bread yeast gives a clean, dry wash. You'll need to add Fermaid K 3 or 4 times, but the carbon captures any questionable flavors, and Turbo Clear removes the carbon. I was expecting this to be a proprietary money-suck, but it works well. I'm impressed, and I recommend this product (WITH0. Turbo Clear and Fermaid K or another yeast nutrient like North Mountain Fermax).

Still spirits is a good product line. I know, as I have used many of their products already, including the T500 a number of times. The truth is, the Turbo carbon is just another layer towards a finished product that is not all that necessary to arrive at the same high quality end result. If you were were to take any HIGH quality turbo yeast and ferment it completely over a 2 week span, rack it off the primary yeast bed(This is a must), THEN clear it with Kieselsol and chitosan and let it sit for another week or two until it is cleared, After this, rack it again and let sit for another couple weeks for it to be absolutely pure and see through. You must have a fully cleared wash to distill or else you will get more unwanted off flavors in the distillation. Ensure you remove the first 2 and a half cups of distillate for the best and purest end product. This is also a MUST. Do not be fooled by taking only 40 ounces off or even 250 for that matter. Once you are distilling, remove the first 2 cups at the very minimum. Just some suggestions on making the best product. You have to be patient during the clearing process and your altitude will affect how long it takes to clear and ferment.
