Pet Diner 4 Meal Automatic Food Bowl

I have to say, I really really wanted this set to work. We had a new baby on the way and I just couldn't see myself getting up at 6am every morning to deal with incessant meowing around the food dish. But our cat (not the smartest by any means, but extremely food motivated) immediately figured out how to bash this thing around and break into it. Also it's not on a clock - it's set to a 12 hour cycle, which means that you have to be around to set it up exactly 6/12 hours before you want the cats to eat. Super inconvenient. I guess we'll have to spring for the more expensive brand. Pretty disappointing as the value seemed really great.Could be useful, however, if you want to make sure the cats are fed before you get home from work. We wanted it for early morning feedings, however, and that just didn't work out for us.

When this works, it's great. However, there was no rhyme or reason as to when it would work! Programming it is difficult as you have to set it literally at the time you want it to run. For us, that meant a 5:30 am alarm to set it the first time. Once it was programmed it ran ok for a day or two, then stopped working. We reset it, and it worked again for a day or two, then started skipping meals again. We ended up returning this and are purchasing a different feeder to try our luck again. In this case you do get what you pay for and there's a reason this one is only $20. :-(

DO NOT PURCHASE. This item is cheaply made and contains design flaws (extremely flimsy lid). If you take the risk and purchase this but have to return it - BEWARE. You will have to pay for return shipping which for me, costs half of the total of the item. I wish I had read the reviews more carefully - do not be like me! Pass on this product - do not buy it.

My cat figured out how to pop the top off and eat all the food within a day. I ended up having to tap it completely closed and only fill it from the opening. It's really durable thou.

I bought the 4 feeder to try it and now that I have had it for a few weeks, I love it but I realize now that I need to buy the 6 feeder due to my schedule. I am able to monitor the food in each tray - you need to reset it every time you fill in the trays but that is minor. I love the record button. I will be purchasing the 6 feeder as well.

Ordered for my FRIEND!She loves the product and how it works, but said it is LARGE and takes up a lot of space!She has small house and small dog.
