Best socks ever and a great bargain to boot - plenty of toe room and stay up nicely
I have tried dozens of brands of wool socks. These are by far the best. I like wool socks for all weather. They keep your feet dry and cool in the heat of the summer and warm in the winter. But, finding really good wool socks for work and hiking is a challenge. You have to consider fit, the ability to keep their shape, thickness in the right places. And then, of course they should not totally break the bank. That said, I have paid up to forty bucks a pair for wool hiking / work socks and these are by far better than any of them. The toes have ample room so you can wiggle your toes, no crowding. The soles have ample padding to help cushion your foot. And the tops are a good length and shaped right to help them stay up easily all day long. The tops come all the way to just below your knee. There is an elastic band around the instep that keeps them snug while allowing the toe to be spacious.I use these riding my mountain bike every day. I wear my knee pads over them and they prevent chafing. They go along with my shorts to give a bit of protection to my legs without getting into the chain. All in all, these are just great socks. I paid less than $14 for each pair and have just purchased three more. Get them while they last.Update: After four months wearing these every day, I still love them.

Nice Socks!!
The quality of this pair of socks was evident by the touch and look of construction. This is not as warm as my other wool blend (Marino) socks, but it is no "slouch" either. I will wear these socks when the temperature is cold, but above 30. Below freezing, my other socks are better. I have warn and washed these socks several times this winter. They get more comfortable after a few washings and formed to my feet. I would expect to get at least 3 seasons of wear out of this pair of socks. The level of value, ruggedness and comfort, makes this a good purchase. I would give this product a rating of "Easily Above Average". This winter it got to minus 34 where I live, so that is the condition on which my socks are judged. As a side note, I have huge feet and this product went the distance for fit and comfort. I hope this review helps.

great tall wool sock, and fits in air cast boot
This tall sock has a good amount of merino wool. Some other brands have less than 50% wool. We searched for a high content merino sock to fit under an air-cast boot for a broken bone. The hospital provided a nice cotton sock, but merino is ideal as it regulates temperature better and naturally. The XL size sock is good for the calf area under the air cast, but the foot is too long for a women's 9 1/2 size foot. That's ok, because any excess foot fabric can be tucked at the toe area. Before laundering, this thick sock was a bit difficult to pull on. After laundering, the sock is easier to use. See photo, dog in photo has nothing to do with the review of the sock, but everything to do with the dog owner's comfort. In other words, we could not convince the dog to move away for the photo.

Great wool socks for snowboarding or hunting
I bought several pairs of wool socks in different brands all with good reviews. Some double the price of these. These are by far the most comfortable and best fit and I will buy more. I wear size 13 shoe and the XL socks are perfect. I tried xxl of another brand that was double the cost and these feel so much better and not as tight. They have a nice transition from thick padded area on the feet to thinner shin/calf coverage. 6’4 with larger calf muscles not a problem. See the other reviews everyone seems to agree.

Amazing
These socks are amazing. I have to wear steel toe muck boots so the tallness of the socks saved my legs from the boots rub. They kept my feet warm and they’re so soft. I plan on buying more.
