I bought these plastic bags as a form of protest, since the City of Los Angeles decided to ban the use of plastic bags by grocery stores starting January 1st of this year. Now I bring my own plastic bags to the store with me. The quality of these bags? They're extremely light-weight plastic, good enough for a single use, the same quality of plastic bag you'd get from the cashier when you check out at the 99-cent store. They aren't thick and durable, but at this price, I wasn't expecting an extremely high-quality plastic bag that could be reused over and over again. Since these Garvey bags were intended for use in a retail store, they come in a reusable cardboard box. A year later, our family of 4 still has 1/4 of a box of these bags left. They have worked out great.

What's to say? They are plastic grocery bags, they cost a couple of pennies each, and they're a great alternative to having to remember to cart around a dirty set of canvas bags all the time. As they're strong enough to be reused several times each (couple trips to the market + final fate as a kitchen trash bag), the net environmental impact isn't nearly so great as it would be were they used once and thrown out. I really wish the kneejerk environmentalists in California would do all the cost-benefit calculations and publicize those, rather than using buzzwords and emotional appeal. Obviously the longterm correct answer is a biodegradable synthetic bag, but California's archaic patchwork of regulations doesn't even *allow* those much less encourage their development.

Plastic bags are no longer offered in supermarkets in my state. After shopping I would reuse the bags in the small trash cans around the house. These are perfect and I really enjoy bringing them to the store to bag my groceries. The looks I get are priceless!

Exactly what you expected. But actually a large quantity! These are the bags that you get with store purchases. But they are extremely practical for day to day use, and home/pet clean up. Perfect for your bathroom bin. Perfect to grab to take your lunch to work in or to use in case it may leak. I used to try to save these from grocery shopping and now this is a bargain with a big amount for the price.

LA outlawed plastic grocery bags as of January 1st, and I'd stockpiled a decent supply since I use them for scooping out the litter box. But my supply was running low, and the other substitutes I tried were either too costly or not easy to use.I'd looked on-line for grocery bags, but didn't really want to buy an entire case of 1000!This package fit the bill just fine. The bags are maybe a little bit thinner than I would ideally like, but hold up to the task well, and so far, I've had no problems with the quality of the bags.I would have given it 5 stars, but I just can't get that excited about plastic grocery bags.

These bags are perfect for me. Somehow, the handles seem a little longer than my supermarket's grocery bags (I love that) and these bags don't have those awful ragged edges either.Due to reflux issues, I try to keep lifting heavy things to a bare minimum so I use several of these bags for the heavier garbage/trash. That way the weight is more evenly distributed and I'm not trying to heft a 13 gallon bag of garbage/trash.These bags, also, fit in my "recycle" wastebasket in the bathroom as well. It's especially helpful to have bags for used Kleenex tissues when you have a cold as you just remove the bag with the germs in it from the wastebasket and put a fresh bag in. See, this "recycle" wastebasket has an extended lip on each side so that the bag handles fit over them and the bag stays put. I wish I could find more of this type of wastebasket but it seems to have disappeared from the marketplace. Anyway, I used to use my supermarket bags but there were times that I used up the bags before my next shopping trip. That's why I decided to invest in these bags so that I'd never be without. I highly recommend them.

We live in an area that has banned all grocery store bags so we have to bring our own reusable ones. That's all well and good but we've always reused the plastic grocery bags for our garbage. For many years I've had a handy little plastic contraption with hooks that was made just to fit these bags, bought from a local store for about $5. It's installed inside my under-sink cabinet door. It fits perfectly, is conveniently located, and keeps the garbage totally out of sight. We wanted to keep using it so we had to find a good source for cheap plastic bags, and these are absolutely perfect!

We have purchased these several times through the years. Having cats and litter, of course, we needed something to place the cat litter in before putting it in the household garbage. These bags did the trick. We try to re-use grocery bags but sometimes did not go to store enough to have the right amount on hand. These come in a handy box which can be put away and bags opened and used as needed. Since I always keep a stash of them for litter purposes, though, we have bags ready for any use. In fact, I have taken them and used them as carry-out bags for a Rotary fish fry a few times. Worked perfectly for that purpose. We will definitely continue to order these bags as needed.
