I am very picky about my hair and go to a hairstylist every six weeks for highlights, touchup and styling. I have dark blonde hair with light blonde highlights, and a darker root base which I covered with a medium golden gloss, but it made my hair a little too dark so I tried this and for two weeks I washed my hair twice a week it raised the level of the darkness and got rid of the gloss, but not in a bright fake way in a very subtle golden shimmering lighter blonde way it was perfect! I use the oil in my hair to keep it moisturized when I tall dry and this work very well. It did not dry my hair out my hair was still soft and very shiny. I also use the matching conditioner and it worked very well. Also, I am picky about my hair care products and only use high-end shampoos and conditioners, but I was very surprised at the gentleness and effectiveness of the claims for this shampoo and conditioner, I do recommend it if you wanna go one level lighter than what you have or to brighten your highlights.

I’ve used John Frida products for years, especially those for color treated blonde hair. They are excellent and when I could no longer find them at Walmart, I know where to go Amazon!

Love this! Bought it a few times now. Smells good like grapefruit, not perfume and cleans my hair nice, color is dictated by the base so if you like your color this will boost it a bit brighter/lighter

Rinses out easily and cleans my hair effectively. Lightens only slightly.

It is a very gentle shampoo that subtly highlights blonde hair and keeps it shiny. My hair has red pigments and using the shampoo has helped me keep the natural blonde look I am aiming for.

One of the better lightening shampoos. Works well for me. I don’t always pair with the conditioner and is fine. Sometimes more expensive at CVS or places like that.

I wish I had taken a before picture so I could include pics. My daughter is 14 and was super blonde when she was younger, but like with most, her hair has darkened. It's still beautiful, but she wanted to try this to lighten it up a little. I didn't expect much honestly, but after only 3 washes, I can't believe the difference!!! She loves it, and it can be hard to get a 14 year old to love anything so... Success!! It doesn't dry her hair out, but she is a little on the oily side to begin with. It just makes her hair look, feel, and smell nice and clean, shiny, and blonde!!

It works, color changes very slowly (after 4 washes you can see the difference) but hair gets really dry during the process. I have decided to stop using it. Not worth it!

I don't bother spending money on expensive foils and highlights. This is literally my go to to lighten by blonde hair. I also rotate so use a regular shampoo 2 days, then this lightening shampoo 1 day, then a purple shampoo like once or twice per week etc. My hair has lightened and brightened so much and it looks 100% natural.

Due to COPD I can no longer 'colour enhance' my dark blonde hair so was steadily getting darker & greyer. I tried John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Shampoo & got lucky - it works a treat to both lighten my hair & eliminate the greys - the bonus was no bad smells or irritation. It may be hard to find this product but well worth the search - I highly recommend it & the coordinating conditioner.

I'm not seeing results in my already lightened hair. I thought this product combined with the lightening spray would keep my blonde fresh. I don't think it's doing anything.
