North Mountain Supply - AMTC-4oz American Oak Cubes (Medium Toast, 4 Ounce)

These are great for overnight aging whiskey. i dropped a few cubes into a jar and in a few hours it was already making my whiskey dark. bag says to leave in for a few months but mine got to a good caramel color within a day.

Great flavor and work very quick

I added these to various meads, and my goodness these cubes create an extremely strong oak flavor after just a few days. With only a few cubes I managed to turn a nice hibiscus mead into a sort of weak non-distilled whiskey made with honey.With that said, I now know where whiskey gets the majority of it's flavor from, and learned to use much more moderation when oaking home brew. We live and we learn, but I think a milder oak would be better suited to more subtly flavored drinks. That said, when used correctly, these oak cubes certainly impart a complex flavor and astringency that really adds a lot to a brew.Most of the cubes are too big to add to bottles though (and remove), so just bear that in mind.

Soaked these beauties in good scotch for a week before dropping them in secondary fermentation with an oatmeal stout. A month later I had the best beer I've ever brewed!

Good stuff with little to no saw dust. I used them for a bourbon barrel aged (flavored) ale and they worked great! I then used the blocks for smoking wood on the bbq.

Added a mellowed taste to rum

Product was as advertised and quickly shipped. Worked well for mellowing and providing some color to a special home brew.

Exactly what I needed for soaking in bourbon or rum and "barrel aging" hard cider. Cubes were perfectly toasted and little to no saw dust in the package, very clean. Will definitely be buying again.
