Q: I feel stupid for asking this but... How is this used as a poncho liner if there is no hole for my head?

Its not used as a rain coat or does it protect you from the rain. It's a blanket that soldiers use underneath their rain ponchos when they don't use their sleeping bags and are in a tactical situation. You can use it inside your sleeping bag as a blanket, but be advise it will get hot in your bag. I use mine as a cover when I'm sleeping on the sofa or on the recliner. Try it! You'll like it.

Very quiet. It's very soft and flexible, like one of those puffy jackets people are wearing these days. It's not at all like a poly tarp from a hardware store.

Q: Is there a temperature rating for this? Wondering how low of a temp I can use this for camping.

I used ponchos during my time in Iraq, but I would say the night temp didn't drop below freezing...perhaps in the low 40s. But I slept w/ it in my sleeping bag for extra warmth.
