101 Rhythm Instrument Activities for Young Children

As a preschool teacher I am always looking for fun activities for my students. My students love to play instruments and this book has really helped me incorporate rhythm instruments into the curriculum. All of the activities are fun and exciting for the students and I love how well organized the material is. It is a must have for the preschool classroom.

I've been a music teacher for grades K-6 for 3 years and a band teacher for 15. I wanted to introduce my younger students to rhythm instruments, but wasn't sure how. This book has tons of really fun ideas, songs, and activities for preschoolers through 1st grade. My students LOVE it!You don't need to be a music teacher to use this book either. Just an involved parent with some patience for noise! Have fun!

Lots of good, simple ideas to use with young children. I like the way it is split into different sections so you can look at the bells section for example and there are lots of ideas you can do with them. Also like the way it provides easy ideas to use percussion instruments.

This is a great little book with lots of fun and simple activities to do with really little ones. A lot of these activities are so simple that you will think "I could have come up with that" but now that I'm a new mom and back to work I'm happy I don't have to. I can just choose one or two of these to add to help make my lesson more fun.

I do a toddler music group and they love the games and exercises for learning and exploring rhythm instruments. The songs are all adapted from familiar, engaging tunes.Some activities are better for kindergarten age and Larger groups.

Easy to read, easy to implement, easy to create a nice weekly curriculum for a 30-45 minute class.I had success on my first lesson which I used 3 rhythm stick activities for my Kindergarten and 1st gradersThe students kept saying "This is fun!!!"

We paired this book with a set of rhythm instruments for toddlers. Our 2 year old girl is having fun and learning about musical instruments all at once!

I teach music classes at a preschool, and this book is perfect for my uses! The activities are fun, simple, and help teach children how to use various musical instruments properly and creatively. They also teach music fundamentals, such as rhythm, tempo, and dynamics. For someone teaching music to young children (mine are 2-5), this book is invaluable! I love it!

There are some really good songs and action ryhmes in this book. I have been looking for a book that has some different, but not too complicated, songs for the children to play instruments to, use body percussion or do actions to, so that they can learn how to keep a beat and copy a rhythm. I am a Nursery teacher, so I bought this to teach three and four years olds, but it would also be good for five and six year olds too, in my opinion .

This book was excellently organized. The activities were clear and easy to follow. Perfect for young children up to age 8.
