Q: Is the date on the packaging a "sell by" date or a "packaged on" date? Date on package is 05/27/16. Did I just get expired dog food?

I ordered this dog food on October 4th, it was delivered on October 6th. I started the new bag on October 22nd. I just got the rest of the bag into my my dog food containers. I looked at the back of the bag near the bottom and below the bar code, there was a box with the "best buy date" on it, which was February of 2019. This was on the 31.1 pound bag. Hope this helps!

Q: Is dog food appropriate for small breeds

My two 11 1/2 year old Golden Retrievers have been eating this for about 2 years. Rocky the male was having trouble with back legs. He wasn't fat but Vet thought him loosing a little weight would take pressure off legs/hips. His Sister likes it also. I mix some with the canned version and some salt free canned vegtables. They ate the Purina One Turkey/venison before. They loved it and it kept them healthy.
