Chuck Norris: Karate Kommandos (Tv Anim)

You'll never see another cartoon like this ever again.
I am currently reliving what I enjoyed when I was a kid and now that we live in an age where week day afternoon and Saturday morning cartoons no longer exist, I am so happy that some of the coolest cartoons have now been transferred to DVD. As a kid, Chuck Norris was and is one of my heroes growing up and especially with the words of wisdom that he had to say at the beginning and at the end of the cartoon really carry a lot of weight and I still carry them with me today. Even though the series was short lived, it still means something to me. Also if you take a look, yes, by today's standards, this cartoon would never air because of it's violence. But hey, was anybody stabbed? No. Did anybody get shot? No. So if you're an 80's kid like me trying to relive your childhood and want the whole series all in one shot at your disposal, then this is the DVD for you. A must have for your collection if you're a big fan of Chuck Norris and martial arts.

I just wish there were more episodes!
Here’s a relic of the 80s toy/cartoon heyday, one I remember fondly. The real life segments of Chuck Norris talking about moral lessons compliment the fun action perfectly. I could go on and on about the parallels with certain neo-liberal agendas and covert imperial operations in the show, but maybe some other time! Enjoy!

Chuck Norris stars in Chuck Norris
It's great to see series such as the jaw droppingly awesome Chuck Norris: Karate Kommandos being released on DVD, even if it's only in R1 DVD-R format. The animation as one would expect is terrible. Character movements are often reduced to only the mouth and/or eyes, baddies only shoot in one direction and continuty errors are all over the place. The stories make little sense and mostly appear to have been written by a peanut. Chuck's ego is suitably stroked throughout, his name is mentioned at least 10 times in the opening titles alone and the baddies are barely able to lay a hand on him. Each episode is prefixed and suffixed with a moral by the real Chuck Norris which is usually ignored in the cartoon itself. If you don't find such things amusing or entertaining then this probably isn't for you.The cartoon only lasted 5 episodes and appears to have been launched in tandem with a comic from Marvel's Star Comics line (only 4 issues) and action figures. That all failed so miserably is nothing but a damning indictement on the whole entire human race (excluding Chuck) and we should all feel deeply ashamed of ourselves.

G.I. Chuck
Imagine Fat Albert with Chuck Norris interludes instead of Cosby, and GI Joe like 1980s cartoon action . Chuck battles Vulture ( A Cobra like terrorist outfit), "deadly" dolphins, "laser" robots, super ninjas, parachuting crocodiles and even an island of zombies! He's got a group of super friends with him including a samurai, a sumo wrestler and a kid named too much whose catch phrase is of course "too much". The Chuck Norris live action bits are set in a gym where Chuck dispenses advice about bullies, responsibility and never giving up and they somehow relate to the above stories where he battles zombies and the like. Pretty entertaining. You'll be screaming SuperNinja's catchphrase in no time, "Norr-eesss!"

Just a copy
Great show but I wish it was the original and not a burnt copy from Amazon. I hate finding out later that is it just a copy. They scratch so easy.
