Perfect for General Direction
Instead of repeating other 5 star reviews, I totally concur with them…..especially the review provided by Mr. Strack. These compasses are not intended to be precise navigation devices; they are for general direction and emergency situations when your expensive electronic devices are not necessary or fail to function. Upon opening the package, I allowed each compass to stabilize overnight on a flat surface without any close magnetic interference. I’m a retired Marine Sergeant Major, with an infantry/Recon background, and I believe these compasses are perfect if used properly and for the intended purpose. Semper Fidelis

Adequate value
Two of these broke within one week. The third isin use on my watchband and still functioning after 19 months.! The fourth one - who knows. But I still consider this product worth the very nominal price.

but I read several bad reviews and looked for other options
I was going to spend $25 on the Suunto version, but I read several bad reviews and looked for other options. I see one with decent reviews and it is a veteran-owned company so I figured I'd buy this. I get 4 instead of 1 and for about a quarter of the price. Shipping was fairly quick and I am wearing this on the watchband of my G-Shock watch. I work construction (remodels...all trades) and if painting or doing drywall, I wear a cutoff piece of the top of a sock over my watch to keep it clean-ish, otherwise this thing (along with my G-Shock) takes a beating and works fine. I am not looking to navigate the globe with it or navigate with no moon and no map to Kilamanjaro from Alaska with it either. Sometimes I want a quick reference for compass direction when looking where the west sun will be or what direction a storm is coming in from. I am a prepper and this purchase was to be a part of my EDC; I do take my prepping seriously and I understand the difference between cheap and quality when it comes to items you bet your life against. Of course, I also recognize that expensive does not mean quality and a trusted name is not always the best provider for lesser-sought items that it creates (take the BMW X-5 for example: a sharp looking SUV that has a penchant for being a complete lemon). This little compass points north as long as it is held level and if it is "stuck", tap it once or twice and it is good to go. The fit on my watchband is snug as can be, in fact, I had to lube this little gem with soap to slide it on the band...I then rinsed off the soap.

Very good product that I recommend to anyone looking for a ...
Very good product that I recommend to anyone looking for a compass to add to a watch or para bracelet. The compass is solid, accurate and have not had any bubbles appear after using for more then 3 months. The only downside to this product is if you build it into your para bracelet, one edge that holds the compass to the base will start to pull away. This had not allowed the compass to pop out of the holder yet and why I only take away one star. It makes one feel the compass will pop out and of course it gives it a poor appearance instead of symmetrical. If they reinforce the edge to be a little stronger then I would go to 5 stars. Good quality material is used in this product and I would recommend it to any adventurers looking for the security of a backup compass.

Pretty mediocre
The accuracy is questionable and the glue that hold the compass to the rubber strap lost its hold after 2 days so it fell off of my watch band. You have to hold them just right and jiggle it a little and if you already know the correct direction, you can verify it with this. Woohoo! I guess these are better than nothing if you are completely clueless with no sense of direction, but they may just get you more lost so it is kind of hard to tell. I wouldn't buy them again.

Not durable at all...
Generally, items marketed for paracord projects like bracelets and such, they are durable. Although these are pretty nice in appearance and seem to be fairly accurate out of the bag, they are just not durable enough for a bracelet or anything that will be done outdoors. My son wore his bracelet outside and the lens fell off after getting wet. Two more of the lens' fell off after getting wet while washing hands... So, these are strictly toys/novelty that cannot actually be used... Just to look at on a shelf, I guess. Or, if you can pop the lens off and glue them back on yourself using a sealer glue... but then, you could just buy a better product to start with and forgo the work.

Good for Cardinal Direction. Fits both my Casio watches. Helps Vets twice. GREAT FOR ORIENTATION.
OK. First off, know what you need before you buy. Most of the negative reviews that I've seen are either just a bad compass or the "Want something for nothing" type people. The compasses I received all worked, but not out of the package. Also, these are NOT Made to be Navigational tools. There are a couple things to do when you first get them. When you get them out of the package, set them somewhere warm and flat for awhile. They read erratic at first. I set them on the dinning room table overnight. This allows them to settle down after being thrown all over during shipping. Also make sure they are at least 6 inches apart during this time. Like I said earlier, know what you need and what the tool is designed for. These are very inexpensive button compasses. They are designed to give you a general North Bearing. That's all. The ones I got do that quite well. The only other thing they are really made to do is fit on a strap or watch band. They fit on my Casio AE-1000W (Digial World Time) & Casio MRW-200H (Analog). Ioo have used these for a couple weeks and just did a round trip by car from Wichita, Ks to San Antonio. Tx. Both directions, I made several stops and checked the one on the AE-1000W at every stop when I got out of the car against my phone GPS/ compass app. and it was pretty accurate. They all seem to vary from right on Magnetic North to a off a few degrees to the South. Good enough to show me where North-ish is. That is all I got it for.Bottom line is that the ones I got are Great for Orientation at a glance. Plus getting them here helps a fellow Vet. QC is probably not so good and they are not navigation quality..... but what do you expect for about a buck a piece?
