Philips 230771 - F14T5/830 Straight T5 Fluorescent Tube Light Bulb

Well, I just installed it so it's working as of this moment. However, the bulb is labeled as "Sylvania" and Phillips is not associated with Sylvania any longer from what I can see. As long as it keeps working for more than a year, I'll be pleased. I will be updating this review if the bulb fizzles out. I tried a different brand that had 4 bulbs per box and they lasted me a year total. So hopefully this ONE bulb will last me as long considering the price. Fingers crossed. Update 9/7/25 - bulb is still working but the brightness has weakened. I’ve never seen a bulb fizzle out slowly like this. There’s still light, but the bulb is discolored on one end and it’s much dimmer than when I first installed it. It’s lasted 5 months so I’m hoping it hangs in there a little longer. It has lasted longer than one of the bulbs from a 4-pack (different brand) that would only last one year total.

Looking to resource these locally I was stunned by the price the big box store I originally bought the whole light unit from was asking for just the bulbs; these were a little more reasonably priced, arrived intact though not individually packaged and seem to be working fine. They did take much longer to ship than I expected hence only 4 stars.

I bought the right model and size but they don’t work at all. And they are not broken . Considering the fact that other reviews state that theirs worked for a very short time and the fact that these didn’t arrive in original Phillips packaging , I wonder if the seller is re- selling used bulbs. Lesson learned . I’ll be going target next time

So went to the big box stores trying to buy a single bulb to replace the one that failed. Important to note this bulb is 22 inches in length. Apparently most in this size level are 21 inches and that is what the big box store have available to purchase individually. For some reason they only sell these 22 inch sizes in a 40 pack!!! Say what ?? I only need one so of course went to Amazon and found I could purchase what I needed. It came packaged very well and arrived unbroken and installed very easily. The old bulb lasted about 6 years so hoping this has a similar long lifespan. The cost was about the same as the big box stores were selling the shorter 21 inch bulbs but as with everything Amazon you have to wait for it to ship and it took 4 days so that kind of sucks to be without your light for 4 days but better than purchasing 40X of the same thing for no reason.

Same as original bulbs I had. Perfect fit with great light! They last for years. Highly recommended them.
