Progrip 053 Cargo Tie Down Winch for Truck and Trailer: Portable Bolt-On, 4"

Ok so this was a bit more robust than i thought it would be using the world mini and it is small considering how solid the product is. I was looking for a winch to hold up a 100 ft long wire antenna and can this thing hold it up and about ten more at the same time. Not sure if it is American made, but it sure makes you feel like its an old time quality product.

Only complaint is that I would like a spring or a detent to hold the lock in place. I rarely need to adjust the winch tension for my purposes though. It's also quite strong - I was easily bending 1/2" rebar through the winch hole on a project.I ended up drilling two holes in the back plate and mounting it that way, and the install looks clean this way.

Purchased two of these for additional strapping capability on our tow dolly. Solid, sturdy construction and easily bolted to the dolly frame. Working as expected. Unable to get both left and right control so dropped down a star.

I have a hundred foot long porch facing the west and it gets miserably hot in the summer! Bought this and some galvanized cable and had a handy way to hang shade cloth for curtains using some shower curtain rings through the grommets on the shade cloth. Now we can enjoy the porch and keep the inside of the house cool too!

For the money it would be hard to find a better, more robust winch. It has a lot more applications than just tightening tie down straps on a flatbed. Very versatile, movable and easily mounted. There are bigger cranked, ratcheting and come along winches, but this one can take their place in many instances.

high quality little winch! heavy lil suckers that will do more than what i bought them for,,which is to raise and lower my bird houses. yep,,,definitely overkill.

Very poor quality, the bolts stripped right out and they are not your 1/2” standard thread bolts. I had to drill out stripped bolt holes and weld nuts to the top for a new half-inch bolts. Would not recommend this for commercial use

It's a good product. However, it would be better if there are versions for right side and left side installations. God bless!
