I bought 3 pairs back in November 2018 and all 3 have issues with holes and tears. One had the stitching in the crotch blow out when in the washing machine pretty early on, maybe late December. One just recently had the stitching next to the left knee go out so there's a huge hole there, as well as the stitching in the seat ripping out. The third pair is mostly fine with small tears throughout the legs, but no large holes.They're quite warm and comfortable, and even though they have no stretch to them the extra panel in the seat gives a surprising amount of mobility. They're warm enough to not feel like I need more layers with these and my work pants down to ~28F. They are definitely a warmer material than my nylon Buck Naked Duluth base layer bottoms, they're just not as well built.Even though I'll have to replace them for next winter, they served their purpose for me quite well, and they're cheap enough that it doesn't hurt the wallet to replace them next year. If you're looking for seasonal base layers that you don't mind needing to replace after regular heavy use after 3-4 months, these will do as long as the crotch or seat stitching doesn't come out.

For 100% cotton, that is this warm and pleasant against the skin, these are affordable. I even ordered another. Unfortunately, I came to realize that the waistband is not a soft material. Wearing them for long periods of time (which is likely in snuggly winter months) has made the skin around my waist rather upset.Still for the cost, might be right for many. If another layer, such as briefs or boxers, were underneath, or an upper layer were tucked into them, it could eliminate the irritation on waist.

These long John's are the best ever made! So soft yet so durable. They hug you like a teddy bear but allow you unrestricted movement like a wild monkey in a tree high above the jungle floor. Buy several pair and rejoice.

Seriously spend a few a little more if you value comfort and warmth. These are horrible. My time caring for my mother has been extended indefinitely. Three weeks has morphed into three months. The temps kept dropping. Walking her dog two to three times a day in the cold is no fun. So I decided to buy some affordable long underwear to use while I am marooned here. I have 14 or so pairs of silky smoothe, oh so warm and comfy long underwear at home. These may be doing the job....... But they are the absolute worst. So uncomfortable. It's as if I am wearing sandpaper coated burlap with a waistband made of tree bark covered with a coarse layer of sandpaper. Some tree bark would be softer. Seriously! As soon as we return from her walks I rip these right off. You literally can't sit down in them. The waistband digs in like a knifes edge. Absolutely horrible. I must continue using them while I am here. After my carer sentence is up these will be donated. They may be used to sand paint off or as traction devices in their second life.
